Dan Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 He's been excellent lately but I don't think there's really any point.
Stevosevic Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Woy loves pace doesn't he? I would imagine he's got more assists/goals combined than a lot of forward players who are usually in the squad? I can't see it but you never know,
RowlattsFox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 He might get a call after the withdrawals. Doubt it though.
Finnaldo Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Who was the last Leicestser player to get a senior England cap whilst af the club? Who was the last Leicestser player to get a senior England cap whilst at the club?
foxfanazer Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Who was the last Leicestser player to get a senior England cap whilst af the club? Who was the last Leicestser player to get a senior England cap whilst at the club? Guppy?
Danizen Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Who was the last Leicestser player to get a senior England cap whilst af the club? Who was the last Leicestser player to get a senior England cap whilst at the club? Ian Walker went to Euro 2004, didnt he?

dayday Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I thought this was a joke thread, saying that he is something different to what England already have. Maybe not so shocking when you think about it
lee7 Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I'd much rather see a player like Vardy in the England team than some of the current players. Atleast you know you'd get full commitment every time he goes on the pitch.
shailen Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 He's not good enough at international level for me. Defenders are quicker and stronger and will cope with his direct style too easily. But having said that, I'd like to see him in an England shirt.
st albans fox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Having a deeper think about this and, given that JV is a confidence type player, mixing with the england lads might help him to raise his game next season (as he did second season in the championship) I still don't think he's technically good enough for this level but perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised. He could have done with putting that one on one away!
Max Power Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I love Vardy but he really shouldn't be playing for England. Would be nice to see though.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Ian Walker went to Euro 2004, didnt he? He didn't play in the tournament though, but he did against Serbia and Montenegro in 2003.
yorkie1999 Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Since Owen retired I cant think of a proper out and out striker with pace to scare defences, so why not give him a go.
daddylonglegs Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 If Andros Townsend can play for England then so can Jamie Vardy WelbeckKaneRooneyBerahinioStrurridgeWalcottAustinLambertCrouchDefoeAre all probably ahead of Vardy. Lambert, Crouch and Defoe's England careers are over, and Walcott's a winger so I doubt Hodgson would pick one or the other. I'd say thats probably fair, 6 (Ings-7?) players currently in front of him, you pick 4 supposedly... not totally unlikely that 3 or 4 get injured, I think then and only then could it be a genuine possibility. What is definitely for sure is that those who haven't seen Vardy play most weeks this year will say that he shouldn't even be considered. However that's not fair, he, along with Cambiasso and Huth is the spine of our side and epitomises everything a fan wants to see. Aggression, pace, 100% effort. He has scored a handful of goals with 10 assists, and for a first season in the Prem when this time 4 years ago he was playing non league football, is unbelievable. If he can show next season he can continue this rapid improvement, he must begin to be seriously considered.
CosbehFox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I know the journo whose wrote that through a work mate, I will get him doing some digging to see if there's any truth in it.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 No way Jose! He's doing ok, but play for England! Tell me you are on a wind up.
queensguardfox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/jamie-vardy-in-line-for-surprise-england-callup-after-stunning-leicester-form-10240080.html Now in the independent.....
Callabinho Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Vardy would be brilliant for England, England have nothing. They're flat, lifeless and no where near the powers of international football. There is room for Vardy, you can boohoo him but what exactly have England got more effective? Vardy on his day at times in unplayable, his aggression and intensity has caused some of the best defenders headaches this season. Maybe not a starter but to come off the bench Vardy is more than capable of performing for England.
ScouseFox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 It does sound well stupid on the face of it, but reading that article it's wholly possible. Rooney is in. Welbeck is in. Then who else? Kane is going the U21s. Ings is going the U21s. Austin is going the Championship. Sturridge is going back to America for attempt to fix all his injuries #8000. Lambert is probably going the pub to watch the games. Slowly running out of alternatives, unless we are going to just take two strikers, one who usually plays on the wing?
Oxfordfox83 Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Would love to see it, but think our size as a club is against him. England fans can be dicks, so if a player's not in United's reserves, how could he be possibly good enough?
ScouseFox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Ok, all those claiming this is the stupidest shout ever; if we are to name 4 strikers in the squad (the norm) who are they going to be? No Kane, no Ings, no Sturridge.
Devonfox1884 Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 1. Rooney 2. Welbeck 3. Austin 4. Berahino 5. Vardy 6. Lambert 7. Carroll If Ings, Kane and Sturridge aren't available IMO.
LCFC1996 Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Berahino going with the U21's too, he might not be far off as ridiculous as it may seem on the face of it
