Regarding Everton, on paper they are set to become a genuine force. They have wealth behind them, a very decent manager with clout in the transfer market, the best striker in the league who has his best years ahead of him and they pinched our Steve Walsh!!! Keeping Koeman and Lukaku could be a challenge but there is a lot of potential there.

True but you get the impression that Lukaku isn't that keen on hanging round to see if they get there, seems he's pretty desperate to leave. Koeman is the same, if one of the bigger European clubs approach him he'll be out of Goodison in a shot.

The irish thing is interesting.

If they moved to England they would be in danger of losing a lot of fans. Ties to Man utd and Liverpool would be much stronger in Ireland. Only the areas like Donegal and the 6 counties would be the core followers.

The current situation is very bad for them in the long run. 10 years ago regular champions league brought a lot of exposure to them but thats all but vanished now. Vast parts of the countrys youth would hardly care about the scottish game at present.

Said it before and will say it again, Celtic would be ****ing massive in the Prem. Far more so than Rangers.

They'd become the number one club for American billionaires to want to own overnight, the marketing possibilities are overwhelming.

Current squad and manager might be guff but writing them off on those grounds has always been stupidly short sighted from the people who invariably say "they'd struggle in the championship."

But that's only potentially going to happen in future seasons. Like Paddy says, Lukaku looks like he's desperate to go and find a team already playing at the top level, and Koeman will jump ship at the first opportunity. If the can keep hold of those two and build on it, then they might have a chance, but right now they are just a high mid table team with a top class striker, and are being spoken about like they are on the brink of breaking the top 4 right now.

Part of me thinks the media are now willfully trying to get Wenger sacked, too - and that they're deliberately fueling the fans' anger.

Why all the hysteria now? Let the Arsenal play and take care of the argument once the season is over.

The media are definitely trying to get him sacked because the day he does get the boot will be a relatively big payday for the papers and a carcass they can pick at for quite some time.

Basically most newspapers don't make much money any more but still have to justify their 24/7 online presence, hence the massive rise in fake news and speculation. If they can help to manufacture a big story then they'll do exactly that.

Not talking about support from Irish people, I'm talking about how, America in particular, you cant go 5 minutes without running into an Irish themed pub and for one day a year everyone's dad's cousins dog is Irish. Irish-themed stuff is a stupidly easy marketing gimmick and Celtic are essentially an Irish themed club.

Whist generally I absolutely detest the hate ridden bigoted crap spouted by both Rangers and Celtic, and mostly I am happy for them to be wallowing in their crappy SPL, there is a bit of me which thinks it would be great for them to play in the English league system. Just not sure how it would actually happen in practice though.

What's in it for the English clubs for Celtic to be in the premier league? The tv deal is already massive, most clubs sell out every week. For clubs like us it's just another big club competing for our place in the PL.

Paul Clement reminds me a lot of Peter Taylor. Good coach, tactically sound but not a leader of men. He seems far too nice to succeed. I reckon Swansea are going down.

Started to dislike him the moment his team lost 2-1 to Man City. He went on and on about a soft free kick given to MCFC in Man City's own half and how it was taken 5-10 yards further away (still well inside their own half). No mention of his team's abysmal defending and terrible goal keeping.

Clement is gonna be one of those whining bellends like Dyche and Hughes where it's always the refs fault they lost - never his failt.

Went to the 'big game' Arsenal City yesterday, the atmosphere isn't even worth mentioning from both the home and away fans.

Can see why there's such a divide at Arsenal, while I was at the opposite end to where I'm led to believe the 'toxic' atmosphere and fighting tends to be it felt dejected even before kick off with barely as much as clapping when the players came out.

He loves a lap of honour when he gets three points as well. He looked a bit cocky at the start of March and it appears to have translated into the players.

Sky and BT confirmed the televised fixtures for the first weekend of May last week.

A rare Friday night between West Ham and Spurs. Five other fixtures across the weekend too. However, we are not of them. Our home game against Watford confirmed 3pm kick off on the Saturday.

Right then lads, now we are almost safe. Who is going down?

Sunderland and Boro cheerio... and then one from Hull, Swansea, Palace and West Ham?

Marco Silva hasn't lost a home game for 3 years! Quite incredible. He is obviously a top manager and they have a decent run in.

You'd have thought Swansea would be ok with players like Sigurdsson and Llorente in their team.

Palace have actually got an awful run in, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Man City and Man U all to play. Would love Fat Sam to finally be relegated!

West Ham cannot buy a win at the moment but like Swansea, you would think they have enough to get them over the line.... Another team I would love to go down though with their scandal of a tax payer stadium deal.

Sunderland, Boro and.... Hull, just coming up short, but West Ham or Palace would be much more fun to see! :D

Yeah I agree, Boro and Sunderland look gone.

Could be anyone of about 10 teams for the last spot, don't rule out Southampton just yet, tough run home and are in poor form.

However, I just can't see Hull getting enough points on the road to survive.

Sure the local police will thank them for the West Ham v spurs Friday night love in.

West Ham* have a nasty run (Liverpool/Spurs and Everton at home plus Burnley away)  in so their game against Swansea is going to be key for them - and at home they will be under pressure.

*They have got Sunderland too though.

We have a very nasty looking May so hopefully we can play as we did tonight against Swansea/Hull to ensure our safety before the end of the month..

Plus Arsenal tomorrow.  Hadn't realised how hard their run in is. West Ham being dark horse to go down perhaps.

West Ham are in a complete tailspin, would be pretty funny to see them go down. Form wise they are the ones who are sliding the quickest. Would be priceless to see them playing in a semi empty stadium next year!!

You've not seen them this year then?
