Yeah I actually think an early goal might cause us to play too defensively and hinder us. Obviously I'd take it though
FoyleFox Posted 14 March 2017 Posted 14 March 2017 Came over from Ireland Sunday, been pretending to be interested in visiting relatives and friends for 2 days. Finally, match day is here. Excited & nervous in equal measure. It's going to be a hell of a night at the KP

JR99 Posted 14 March 2017 Posted 14 March 2017 Over the moon if we keep this 0-0 for the first 70... They're gonna have sh!t streaming down there legs and one goal will knick it for us... COYB

MC Prussian Posted 14 March 2017 Posted 14 March 2017 I'm at work, but my mind's wandering in a slightly different direction...
smr Posted 14 March 2017 Posted 14 March 2017 I think we'll pick the same team that pld against liverpool and the same tactics, hit them hard on the counter, press high up and get at em straight away, nick a couple of early goals and kill them off.
Ted Maul Posted 14 March 2017 Posted 14 March 2017 Buzzing for this, I genuinely think we've got a good chance. I can see us coming out of the traps early with plenty of purpose and blowing them away like we did Man City and Liverpool. They play 3 at the back and we like working those channels...

COYB The longer it stays 0-0 the more the tie swings towards us until about the 70 minute mark then 0-0 starts to favour them. The beauty of this is the onus is on them to qualify as the favourites. At the 60-70 min mark we can go for it and bring on Gray and Slimani for Okazaki and Albrighton and really go gung ho. I hope we make this a match of attrition where both sides expend lots of energy. It's far more important that we don't concede in the first half than score in the first half. I'm hoping they've come to protect what they have rather than try to kill us off.
ozleicester Posted 14 March 2017 Posted 14 March 2017 somehow have to try to go to bed early, so i can get up at 3am for some of the prematch. I usually dont go until midnight...so its tricky but who cares.... DILLY DING!!!
Collymore Posted 14 March 2017 Posted 14 March 2017 Travelling down from Newcastle after work so if there's any traffic at all I'm in trouble. Did this a with porto and copenhagen and I had 15 mins to spare each time! The weather looks perfect so roads should be clear from spray at least! I still can't believe the availability of tickets for this. To get tickets right up until the match is ridiculous for such a massive game. If the boys fight tonight and leave everything on the pitch I'll be proud whatever the outcome. BLUE ARMY!!!!!

Bobby Hundreds Posted 14 March 2017 Posted 14 March 2017 I think they'll score. We might have to do it on pens.

But it wouldn't there is really no conceivable way that tonight's game can be enjoyable even if we were 3-1 up, a single lucky hit and we're out 3-0 at 89 minutes and I might begin to relax

Still baffles me why anyone would think it's a good idea to take off Albrighton while bringing on Slimani... Our best crosser of the ball and our best target man, and they never seem to be on the pitch together.

Whilst I agree if we need a goal Mahrez will probably stay on the pitch to offer a moment of brilliance and Gray needs to come on fresh to run at tired defenders so Albrighton has to be the one in that situation as his only real goal threat is crosses.

But considering Slimani has yet to score with his feet despite having some incredible chances you could argue then it is pointless bringing him on. Crossing might be Albrightons biggest threat but it is a huge threat when you have Slimani on the pitch, His ball for the West Ham goal would have been wanked over for weeks had it been Beckham.

Sorry my mistake EDIT EDIT - Actually i cant remember now as i was on a course last week and told a lad in the course there were tickets available . Losing the will to live now haha

You are forgetting that it was he who scored our first ever Champions League goal. A moment I will never forget.
