Leonardo Ulloa Joins Brighton And Hove Albion On Loan

Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa has joined Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion in a loan deal until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Be great to see Ulloa back at Brighton. They still love him down this way.

However they've just signed a striker, and Glenn Murray is their top scorer...unless as some have suggested, they're looking to drop Murray due to the tax issues?

Is he off then or what?

He's been off for years.

But in answer to your question it depends on the Slimani situation.

If Slim is sold then sadly ulloa stays. If not Ulloa goes.

Would like to sell really don't see the point of a loan move. They could have him for a few million. Ok only if they are paying all his wages as well.

Yeah but if he does well there AND they stay up we could get a decent fee in the summer potentially. Could end up that we get half our money back and a lot of important goals in the time he was here!

Interesting, if true, as it would leave us without a big striker as an alternative to throw on at the end of a game where we're pressing for a goal, or simply to give us  an alternative attacking style against particular opponents.

From watching over the past few games, our passing game has been improving.

Yesterday we were pinging it around lovely, that continental type game is clearly Puel's goal.

No need for a big brut in the box.

Just put Huth up front.

Puel has shown he's willing to go for the more continental approach when you don't even have a true striker up front, but more of a false 9. We've ended quite a few games with just Mahrez or Gray up front, including yesterday. Unorthodox approach, but it can work. Essentially Firminho for Liverpool does the same thing. He's more of an attacking midfielder that plays up top and means that have a very dynamic front three.

And in emergency situations like in the last ten minutes of the game, you could probably put Harry Maguire up front who would inevitably Cruyff turn two players and bend it into the top right hand corner!

Seems to me like Ulloa and Musa were the players Puel aimed to move on - we appear to be well on the way to doing so. But the Monaco interest and potential fee for Slimani looks like it might be too much to turn away. I still think Slimani is a good player but with each passing fixture it looks less and less like he will ever be given the nod over others and that he will perform consistently well.

Only concern is we are thin on the ground up top but we do only play 1 striker and we've never traditionally had major fitness issues with Vardy (long my that continue) and Okazaki. That with Iheanacho finding a little form and Diabate adding to our options I'm relatively content.

Throw Maguire or Iborra up front!
