brucey Posted 18 September 2018 Posted 18 September 2018 So who are our best wingers at the moment? Ricardo > Ghezzal > Albrighton > Gray? Is that about right?
psychonaut Posted 18 September 2018 Posted 18 September 2018 Gray completely embodies the phrase ‘flatters to deceive’
Wymsey Posted 18 September 2018 Posted 18 September 2018 A poor man's Raheem Sterling at the moment. Glimpses of quality at times, but quite average during others.
davelcfc100 Posted 18 September 2018 Posted 18 September 2018 First 3 games were excellent. Last 2 games he’s been a bit dog shit. Disappointed but hopefully will come good.
bpfox Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 he will never come good as long as his arse points to the ground.
Pete Campbell Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 Gray has had a decent season so far but needs to keep improving. Him and Ghezzal were abysmal vs Bournemouth though.

Playing minutes, where did he play, what stage his career is, are important. Nobody can be messi or ronaldo in 1 year with playing only few minutes, moreover out of position. He's not offering almost nothing. Hes need to improve, that's right. And he does have the potential. Go on slat everybody, support another club like man City. we don't have that much money to bring 11 star player together.

Same as these daft buggers that keep bringing up stuff to try and show us Mendy and Ndidi are both better than Kante. Football isn't like baseball or basketball. Far too many multivariants. He did not offer nothing at the momment. He improved. He pass when its the time to pass, not forcefully dribble or long shot too many times as the season before, and work harder to defend. He's still young and improving, mahrez is 4 years older in peak of his career. Its too soon to write him off yet.
La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 I don’t think he’s been decent at all. He’s been his usual inconsistent self the only difference is we currently have no better options so he’s getting the start. I can’t recall anything other than a sporadic burst past a player and a scuffed goal against Southampton. Still unimpressed.

Guest Col city fan Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 The stats put up about Gray are interesting and reflect what you see on the pitch. For an attacking player, his final product still is nowhere near good enough. Puel playing him as a striker is strange too. Nacho is an infinitely better finisher.
shade Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 just to get controversial, I was complaining with my old man last season about how mahrez was hardly doing anything and suddenly seemed unable to beat a man, wouldn't surprise me to see that they both offered a similar amount.

Nod.E Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 He'll start on Saturday. They'll score early doors against the run of play. He gets dragged on 60 at 1-0 down. We win 2-1.

Well, when Gray scores 12 goals this season we can say he offers a similar amount then.
AjcW Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 It's in games like Saturday where he needs to grab his chance, assists and goals etc. I don't expect him to run the show against top 6 sides but I fully expect him to make the difference against bottom six sides!
Lionheart10 Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 Strange ,he always seems to have a good game for England!

Stadt Posted 19 September 2018 Posted 19 September 2018 Stats aren’t the issue, context is always vital with them. One of the biggest issues is that publicly available data is quite basic and don’t mean an awful lot. Behind the scenes analytics are becoming increasingly vital but these are people with access to in-house and external data sources. Most have degrees in stats and have coached to some degree, too.

cropstonfox Posted 20 September 2018 Posted 20 September 2018 Hes always looked good against lower level opposition. He is a decent Championship level winger at best.He will serve us well next year(if we keep puel at the helm)
