Palace should have cashed in on zaha when they had the chance surely one one is going to pay big money for him now

Maybe they never wanted to? Or needed to?
Plenty from the outside would say the same about us with Vardy.

Not all smaller clubs are looking to sell.

And to be fair they got about 10 million quid for a 2 game loan at Manchester United.

They probably deserve to be too. Not enough said about Wolves this season. They’ve broken the so called Europa League curse too given they’ve managed to improve their league position on last season even with extra commitments!

oh and they could still win that!

Why do Wolves deserve to finish above us? We've scored nearly 20 more goals and conceded fewer goals until we lost nearly our entire first choice defence. By contrast, Wolves have had hardly any injuries all season. Yes, they've done well but over the season as a whole we've been better.

That bloke on BT going on and on about how great Wolves are was saying we needed a major rebuild a couple of weeks ago when we lost to Chelsea. A major rebuild when we have 8 players who are 25 and under when we're at full strength? Give me strength! The media love in with Wolves does hack me off but at the same time they are nothing if not really solid defensively.

Wolves success this season and last season is quite remarkable. They just got promoted in 2018.

Makes the likes of Sunderland and Villa stinking up the league for years even funnier.

It helps when your best buds with a super

agent who can empty half of Portugal’s talent for you I guess.

Villa and Sunderland didn't have a link with an agent who enabled them to sign first team players from a CL club like Porto when they were in the Championship.

True, but then they have had a 4 month rest before having to play their last 9 league games, which they wouldn`t have had, if it hadn`t had been for the lockdown, and also they haven`t had to play the europeon games along side the league games since we came back either, and that has also been a benefit to Man Utd and the other English teams left in Europeon competitions as well.

So one of the advantages that we had over those teams going into what would have been the run in before lockdown, is that we didn`t have the extra games to play that they did, and would normally have had a full week to rest and train, that they wouldn`t have had normally.

It`s good that the season has been finished, but there have been some teams that have benefited more than others with how we`ve finished it.

As i said above, the teams left in Europe have not had to play their games during the run in, and also the 5 sustitute rule, has clearly been of benefit more to the bigger clubs with millions of pounds worth of quality players on their bench.

This was illustrated no more so than our Cup game with Chelsea, where after we had pretty much dominated them in the first half, they bring on 3 quality subs at half time that immediately changed the game, knowing that they could still bring another 2 players on later.

Then there are teams who had some long term injurys, Tottenham spring to mind, and also Rashford and Pogba at Man Utd, who because of the break were all able to finish the season that they wouldn`t have ordinarilly.

It’s crunch time, Villa, and YOU HAVE ONE JOB.

No, it's not a damn thing to do with three points and staying up!  Screw that, nobody wants you here anyway.

Go ahead and lose 4-0, just KEEP AUBAMEYANG OFF THE SCORE SHEET!

Not as remarkable as us winning the league in our second season back in the Premier league. :scarf:

when was that then, who came in for him?

I thought either Everton or spurs had bid for him at some point could be wrong.

The punch no.

I can definitely see him getting aggressive and the player standing up for himself, and a scuffle ensuing. Maybe that is what the argument with the MD was about?

I guess it's unlikely we'll find out unless one of the players leaks it.

According to Deeny there were no half time fistycuffs, just strong words from Nige regards the performance.

No one deserves except for where they finish. if we are going to go on arguments if results went differently, I’d throw in the two Chelsea games where we bossed them in the second half of both games. Should’ve won both. Brighton, we should’ve had a pen. The last minute pen at Anfield was debatable.

There are a few games where we haven’t got what we deserved. It’s been poor lately but we are also playing without a few key players but we’ve had some good performances this year.

Is this ref being paid by the whistle? Seems to stop the game every 30 seconds.

Dankes was shit in the Championship and he hasn't got any better. They did so many late niggly fouls from behind and it took him until the second half to book one of them for it, then Coady does it once and he's straight in the book. Not to mention Jota getting hacked down right at the end when he would have been clean through on goal. Could easily have been a straight red but he blew for full time to save him and his mates a decision.

He's been terrible this season. 4 goals compared to 10 last season. And he's spent the majority of this season getting knocked over by a strong breeze. They won't get anywhere near what they wanted for him when Man Utd were after him. In fact he'll probably be lucky to get a move at all.

As for the Europa League curse biggest myth in football, same as the Manager of the Month Curse.

Quite right. Everyone cites Burnley last season, but they were out of the competition by the end of August. They were awful until well after Christmas.

To be fair this break has massively helped all of the teams in European competitions, as everyone has had to play the same amount of games in the same period of time, rather than a select few playing more often than the rest.

I respect what they've achieved, even if they're tough to watch at times, but I don't think they've had this form without the forced break.

Burnley suffered a lot of injuries due to that early run, and their preseason was totally ruined by it, which is what started that terrible form, which they only turned around after all their players came back from injury and their fitness improved. The 7th placed team can suffer a lot from starting so much earlier than everyone else. It goes back further than Burnley, as well. Wolves have managed to avoid it and commendably so, although I would have been interested in seeing how they managed with no COVID break and European football continuing whilst playing PL football.

Stopped at the first section of your sentence like. If you think that Bayern ain’t gonna find a hole in that Chelsea defence, there’s an actual hole in your head

The Champions League regularly throws up astonishing comebacks in the latter stages, its madness. That said, I really don't see them winning it.

Did someone say the Mighty Tottenham Hotspur never win anything?

Looks like they have something to celebrate this season after all:

This is all just part of the London brand and promotion - for the fake bragging rights for casual fans across the world.

But it's still revolting lol
