It's time for people to stop being deluded and start cheering for Liverpool to beat everyone from 3rd to 10th. Title has gone, there's no shame in admitting that. Want to be looking down not up to make sure we stay as far ahead as 5th as possible. You're right, I am in a dream world but for what it's worth, remember when Newcastle were in first place, 12 points clear of Man U, with 2 games in hand in mid January? They ended up losing the title by 4 points. Also, seem to remember Man U being 8 points clear of City with 6 games to go, only to lose on the final day. I'd like us to push on and see how many points we can get, regardless of Liverpool. I expect them to win, but I'm also certain they won't go unbeaten and some of the teams they are playing over the next 2 months really need the points. For all that is being made of the current gap Liverpool are enjoying, I'll be shocked if they win it by a huge margin, and not at all surprised if they win it by a much decimated margin, come May. Chrysalis Posted 1 January 2020 Share Posted 1 January 2020 Perfect round of results for us, couldn't have got better really. All the teams hunting top 4 lost.
Popular Post Hammo Posted 1 January 2020 Popular Post Share Posted 1 January 2020 Looking at the table now, we have a 14-point lead over the team in fifth with 17 games left. I’d say realistically we would still get a top four place - and enter the Champions League - even if we were to win less than half our remaining 17 games. Even if our record from now to the end of the season is just W7 D3 L7 (which would necessitate a major downturn in form; it is now W14 D3 L4 i.e. wins in two thirds of our 21 games) we would finish up with 69 points. Just to match that, Man United would have to get 38 points from 17 games - say W12 D2 L3 (and currently they only have 31 from 21) - while Spurs and Wolves would need another 39 (both have 30 from 21). And all three of those teams are still in Europe. It’s looking very promising, folks... 5

GeorgeTheFox Posted 1 January 2020 Share Posted 1 January 2020 I don't want to revel in the hate Maguire is getting because for the most part it is pretty out of order and represents a dark side of football but.. it was easy to see this coming really wasn't it

Ian Nacho Posted 1 January 2020 Share Posted 1 January 2020 Howe being a decent manager is a total myth. Since they’ve been in the Premier League, they’ve had a high net spend than Liverpool.

jayfox26 Posted 1 January 2020 Share Posted 1 January 2020 How on earth did var overturn that red card for Cresswell. Absolutely terrible tackle and even if you get the ball these days, you can still get sent off, like vardy vs wolves last season. No way could that be seen as a clear and obvious error by the ref, it was a horrible tackle and complete unnecessary and Fraser could have got a serious injury!
