Harry96 Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Proud of the boys did well especially in that first half just wish we were more productive in the opposition half. Kompany full of praise for us saying we’re realistically a top 6 side.
Mr Weller Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Anyone complaining about our performance tonight is being just plain ridiculous. The most criticism you can give is that at times we were a bit Puelesque in that we passed backwards when we didn’t need to but we’re gradually getting that out of our system. Man City have won 13 in a row and have an absolutely wonderful team, possibly the best the Premier League have ever seen. We matched them for most of the game and had at least one golden chance to draw it. Huge credit to us and shame on the handful of critics who are being completely unreasonable.
adam Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Looking how Tielemans was there at the end with Pep I imagine we have no hope of signing him.
rachhere Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Vincent Kompany just said we were playing Top 6 standard. That works for me.
Hammo Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Good first half. Some decent individual displays. But Man City wore us down, started forcing errors from us and scored a brilliant goal when they needed to. And given what Kompany has been through in his career with injuries, fair play to him. What a strike! My only gripe. Obviously the late Nacho miss. I seriously believe there was something in his head that told him to miss that against the club that groomed him. It was so far wide to be highly suspicious.

Got yo love the guy's effort and much more to come. That set up for Iheanacho was superb. You are quite right, he hasn't had enough starts to build the stamina into his leags yet. He is going to be a big player for us going forward. The pass was excellent a pity it fell to the wrong player.

Corky Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Highlight of the night was Brendan saying "Fvck me" when Schmeichel kicked it straight out of play. You've only had it for two months, mate.

leicesterisme Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Can't believe I'm reading comments criticising that performance, thought we were outstanding against what is one of if not the best club side in the world. Think people are forgetting how good they are. You can't just go gung ho against them as they will pick you apart and trash you. We naturally became tired in the second half and it became more of a defensive performance but nearly every team that plays against them especially at the Etihad will be the same. Really looking forward to next season, we have the makings of a really good team, if we can get Tielemans and keep hold of the key players I can see it being a great season.
KingKoala Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 I don't wanna blame Nacho but I thought he is supposed to be good with that sort of chance and shot wide? What's the point of having him... Then Hamza was really good, he was one of the better players out there including Man city's players today.
Swarles Barkley Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Peps like bran stark with that 4d chess selling us iheanacho

AKCJ Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 We've essentially been beaten by the best British side of all time by a freak goal. Plenty to build on next season, providing we keep our team together and add in certain areas. Maddison in particular was exceptional.
Sly Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Did we ever look like scoring? We defend well and frustrated them. The better team won though.
Orange seat Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Pushed the best team in the league all the way. Great 1st half, dropped a bit in the 2nd but had to do a lot of running to fill the gaps their movement created. Big shouts to Hamza, Wilf, Chilly and Madison tonight
Ric Flair Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Iheanacho missed an absolute sitter and Maddison should have done better with acres of space. Man City created barely any tangible efforts all game bar Aguero's chance in the 1st half. We were pegged back and 2nd half was nowhere near as potent for us but we still dug in well. Can't have asked for much more.

shailen Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 We played ridiculously well. Take that Kompany strike out and we had the better chances and limited them to shots outside the box. They were desperate. I have never seen Man City like that even under pressure and we did that to them. We keep this side together and next season we can do some real damage.

volpeazzurro Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 27 minutes ago, ttfn said: It is so frustrating that Man City can just go and buy our best player and leave him to rot on the bench. As exciting as this team is at the moment, this is why we will never permanently establish ourselves as a top 6 side, and nor will Wolves, Everton, West Ham or anybody else. Any top-level players are lured to the big sides before any of the growing sides are able to establish themselves. One day players will wake up and realise that to reach their full potential they need to play. However, as someone rightly said on here you have to back yourself and I'm sure most of them think they're good enough to play. In Marhez 'so case you'd have to say he's miles behind the likes of Silva and Sterling. He's not good enough.
