Man City post Match thread

Recommended Posts

Good first half. Some decent individual displays. But Man City wore us down, started forcing errors from us and scored a brilliant goal when they needed to.

And given what Kompany has been through in his career with injuries, fair play to him. What a strike!

My only gripe. Obviously the late Nacho miss. I seriously believe there was something in his head that told him to miss that against the club that groomed him. It was so far wide to be highly suspicious.

He's only real had a handful of games at this level, and Man City do tire teams. Got yo love the guy's effort and much more to come. That set up for Iheanacho was superb.

You are quite right, he hasn't had enough  starts to build the stamina into his leags yet. He is going to be a big player for us going forward. The pass was excellent a pity it fell to the wrong player.

Anyone complaining our performance tonight is being just plain ridiculous. The most criticism you can give is that at tones we were a bit Puelesque in that we passed backwards when we didn’t need to but we’re gradually getting that out of our system.

Man City have won 13 in a row and have an absolutely wonderful team, possibly the best the Premier League have ever seen. We matched them for most of the game and had at least one golden chance to draw it. Huge credit to us and shame on the handful of critics who are being completely unreasonable.

We aren't. We aren't at all.

please will the morons not suddenly blame Nacho for our loss. He was on less than 10 minutes, don't show yourselves up.

We can blame him for that miss.

This particular moron thinks he's an absolute dead loss.

I don't wanna blame Nacho but I thought he is supposed to be good with that sort of chance and shot wide?

What's the point of having him...

Then Hamza was really good, he was one of the better players out there including Man city's players today.

We've essentially been beaten by the best British side of all time by a freak goal.

Plenty to build on next season, providing we keep our team together and add in certain areas.

Maddison in particular was exceptional.

Iheanacho missed an absolute sitter and Maddison should have done better with acres of space. Man City created barely any tangible efforts all game bar Aguero's chance in the 1st half. We were pegged back and 2nd half was nowhere near as potent for us but we still dug in well. Can't have asked for much more.

We played ridiculously well. Take that Kompany strike out and we had the better chances and limited them to shots outside the box. They were desperate. I have never seen Man City like that even under pressure and we did that to them.

We keep this side together and next season we can do some real damage.

It is so frustrating that Man City can just go and buy our best player and leave him to rot on the bench.

As exciting as this team is at the moment, this is why we will never permanently establish ourselves as a top 6 side, and nor will Wolves, Everton, West Ham or anybody else. Any top-level players are lured to the big sides before any of the growing sides are able to establish themselves.

One day players will wake up and realise that to reach their full potential they need to play. However, as someone rightly said on here you have to back yourself and I'm sure most of them think they're good enough to play. In Marhez 'so case you'd have to say he's miles behind the likes of Silva and Sterling. He's not good enough.
