Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 15 April 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 15 April 2022 I might be in the minority but his best games for us have always been when deployed from the right but where we're in the groove so much that there's interchange with others picking up his space and him being allowed to pick up the ball centrally too. He's erratic but the one things he's always done well at is intercepting high up the pitch which as we saw from Lookman, KDH and Daka last weekend vs Palace and likewise from them last night, if you set the tone with aggressive defending from the front then we come alive in the way we play. We have more space to find our creative players to then unlock the defence. No brainer after a good cameo out of the wilderness that he gets a start vs his old side on Sunday, bit I'd play him wide right and Maddison central and they can interchange. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'd nearly rate his as his best for us. The hat trick in the 9-0 win over the saints was good but the game was as good as done when he got his first. Last Night was a contribution that he was largely responsible for and his impact was undeniable. Over the course of the last few seasons, he has been poor. He should move on. His contribution yesterday and in the FA Cup final means he will leave us with some positive memories. But there is a reason he's drifted away from the starting 11. Because he's generally played well below the standards we expect and need. He's a good technician, but has always lacked in pace and strength. Top contribution yesterday. Let's be fair, if Perez hadn't contributed would people have been saying it was completely the right decision to make the sub and just unfortunate that it didn't pan out? Of course not. Fact is he picked a guy who's barely played all season and struggled to contribute as much as he should have done in his time here. Fair play to Rodgers and Perez for providing a massive contribution.
