Our general play was fantastic, need to be better with final ball and a bit too open at the back but it all looks good. Love the options we have in midfield.

Still not the finished article by some way and needed some luck such as the VAR decision which was very tight.

 

Gray was lucky to stay on after his first 'touch'. More positively, Soyuncu and Maddison were excellent, Praet had some great touches coming on. Ricky good also. 

 

But happy days, 2nd and in the mix for Top 6.

To be fair, if we had scored Aurier's goal and then got a call like that on us, we'd be fuming. Funny how what would have been an almost "in the bag" victory for Spurs spun on a dime like that

Maddison's goal looks better every time I see it. The way he bent it around the defender and swung it back into the corner. Absolutely perfect strike

Well, I mean, most obviously - what a huge difference it made to drop the strait jacket formation and get some real width out there.  Night and day.

 

Absolute cracker of a game, and on balance over 100 minutes I thought we were better.  The VAR call on our goal was correct, Sissoko should have been sent off, and the VAR decision on Aurier's goal was incredibly harsh.  All in all maybe it balanced out.

 

Also - dunno if anyone noticed but after Soyuncu's strafing run out of the back - gloriously absurd and beautiful as it was - Chilwell took him aside and said (presumably) "Maybe not the best idea for a central defender to be in the attacking third at that point in the match".
