mozartfox Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 Congers has suddenly gone up a notch in my estimation. Next bullet to dodge is that Southampton fella. That would then make it a fantastic start to this Window. 1

I would think somewhere between 5 and ten mill if he’s only on 75k/week. Suspect the promise of regular games has swung it and I wonder if he still has family close to soton Edited 25 July 2020 by st albans fox
jmono84 Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 Yea one year deal would have been a good piece of business but offering 3 years is madness!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 3 year deal is crazy, 2 should have been the max. Maybe we were in for him, maybe we weren't. I thought he'd add decent cover, but if he's on 75k+ a week, it's probably not worth it. Onto the next one we go.
Lesta2014 Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 Tanner saying we were never in for him. I’m hoping that’s because we have a) younger targets in mind and b) some money to throw at transfers 1

Ric Flair Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 Lee Congerton and Brendan Rodgers gone up in my estimation, that's already a strong start to the window. 1
Haywood_6 Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 Good business from Brighton. I think he's got a few good years left actually, I like him. Think we should be aiming higher though.
sdb Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 Good signing for them. Personally glad we didn't pursue. Quick and dynamic right winger more important.

He's played 15 and 13 times in the league over the past 2 season.
tsintskaro Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 i dont mind its even better, now we have to focus other targets.if we get Lallana,it means we are not buying actual solid winger and that would have been very sad
FLAN Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 (edited) Imagine location was factor ibeing ex Southampton Edited 25 July 2020 by FLAN

Are you saying glad we dodged a bullet, inferring that we made a good decision to let him go? The possibility is, that he looked at our offer and chose someone else.

I was being sarcastic based on the abuse both get regarding transfers. Either way, I'd not be giving Adam Lallana a 3 year deal. Id not have been that upset if we signed him this summer but it would be a gamble based on past performances going back a fair few years. We don't have to take such gambles if we continue our recruitment methods of recent years. 3
coolhandfox Posted 25 July 2020 Posted 25 July 2020 3 years is over the top for 32 old who has 40 apps in the last 3 years 3
shailen Posted 26 July 2020 Posted 26 July 2020 This really doesn't bother me at all. He would have been a good signing 3 years ago but with his injury record, he isn't someone that would be able to consistently come in and perform.

Could have been good to have for the season or two and then given a coaching role to help bring on the youth but I suppose at his age he wants to be playing as much as possible if he can stay injury free ?
whitwickfox Posted 26 July 2020 Posted 26 July 2020 he needs a three year contract just to be able to play 20 games
