And as good as Soyuncu and Evans are they're not beasts in the air like Fofana. I think it's good to have a CB with that repertoire in the squad. He can be selected in certain games to deal with a Andy Carrol type striker or when you're 1-0 up away at Burnley in the last 10 minutes and under pressure and bring him on to go to a three at the back and deal with their aerial bombardment.

It's one of the reasons I want him here so much as his profile is excellent. A beast in the air but 19yo and will probably be prepared to wait his time behind Evans and Soyuncu but will still get 20-30 games this season. A really high ceiling as well as it looks he has the potential to be a worldie.

Agreed. And setting aside his defensive abilities, maybe we would actually score a corner this season.

So the whineing, pissing and moaning by St Etienne continues. See you deadline day for this one. Looking for the bigger and better deal.

Actually think this one is gathering pace, but maybe I am just dreaming though. :dunno:

Buy this guy, loan Tah, smoke a cigar, laugh at Man Utd.

Think it is a very similar to Mahrez. We kept saying he wasn't going, but if the player isn't interested in playing for you anymore because he has his heart set on a bigger move, it's difficult to keep hold of them. In the end Fofana will push this move forward and St. Etienne will accept a slight over payment , rather than having a disgruntled player in their ranks, thereby everyone will be happy and no one appears to lose face.

2 things in that article which confuse me

Have St Et ever had any dealings with transfers either in or out..

...The French club are said to be “furious” at the Premier League club’s tactics for luring the teenager and don’t want to deal with them any more...

We submit an offer of cash in exchange for their player & they furious?

&
...He revealed in one interview with French media that he has already agreed personal terms with Leicester.....

If the club haven't agreed for him to talk to us then thats us tapping him up which against the rules & we will be in more trouble than them just walking away but if we haven't tapped him up & they have agreed for him to speak to us then what's their de boeuf?

Me thinks the French press talk as much 5hit as English

...we need to get this over the line!!!

After all this time it is not clear exactly what the price is to get this done, if we need a further £1m to get it done lets do it. If this player can get us to top 4 it will be worth about £50m, in the great scheme of things we will come out of this in a great position. His price will double and we have a win win solution, we can no longer continue to play Ndidi in the backline, we have got away with it so far, we are going to be pressed heavily going forward and his distribution is not what we require to beat a press or just playing it around the back four.

Really want this guy. He would "complete" our squad

Barnes Vardy Under

Maddison Ndidi Tielemans

Castagne Soyuncu Evans Ricardo

Schmeichel

Ward | Fofana Justin Hamza Praet Perez Iheanacho

That is a Top 6 starting 11 and bench!

Götze or Mandzukic for the title

Didn’t he do a pod cast with someone on here? Did anyone listen to it?

@SmuelMartin has said that he did an interview with SFE and was going to load it to his podcast website. Rather suspiciously something went wrong with the recording, so the podcast could not be published. If the interview does actually exist then I'm fairly sure that it could be posted somehow.

Or maybe @SmuelMartin = SFE? Just saying.

The podcast interview with SFE was published and available for a while before it was taken down. I did listen to the whole thing, it was pretty long. He took questions from a thread on this forum, including ones asking why he leaks the teams. The answer was he thinks fans want to know and he thinks opposition managers don't care. Anyway lockdown then happened and SFE stopped leaking teams but SmuelMartin started leaking teams instead. Pretty sure they sounded like two different people on the podcast, but who knows lol Seemed like they had a mini Twitter spat at some point afterwards so maybe that's why it was removed.

That is a team that could become scary in 2 years. Only needing a striker and a goalkeeper for long term success maybe jovic next year so they can have funds for reals big signings next year and Henderson from man u if they don't give him game time this year
