FIFA 21

Everyone has had pace downgrades. Sancho and Ganabry are only like 83/84 pace on their cards(not sure of actual figures).

With people being able to direct players runs more accurately this year they have to nerf something along the lines to allow it.

Its an expensive purchase just for some updated squads and kits.

They spent all that effort putting the Alex Hunter story line in a couple of years back but I dont remember seeing any improvement in the gameplay that runs on rails and is scripted - despite the alledged 'gameplay improvements'...

I wont be fooled this year.

Despite my best intentions of not buying the game this year i caved this morning and pre ordered it. Although for the first time i didnt go all out and get the ultimate edition. Just got the standard edition so no early access and all the other extras. Another 10 months of my life lost to fifa it is 😂

The last version of FIFA I played was 2004 on a friends Playstation 2 (with the manager game in addition.)  If I wanted to play a more recent version on the PC, which one is the best to go with?

Will you want to play ultimate team and online, or just offline matches? If on PC, and the latter and you want more of a “proper game of football” I’d really recommend PES. The customisations and tweaks that the community have made really make it something special.

Well, unlike the F1 games, it looks like steam only sells the most recent versions of both FIFA and PES, so I don't have much choice if I want to buy either :-/

Pes 2021 will basically be 20. They admit it (unlike FIFA). You should be able to get a bargain soon too if you buy after release

Haven't played any of the betas, demos or watched any trailers. I think I'm gonna manage to resist buying this on release day for the first time in about 13 years.

Same, absolutely no interest in it. If I end up caving in it'll solely be for pro clubs.

As someone who has never, nor will ever play Ultimate Team, Career Mode is my only interest in the game. During the mid 00s - if I recall - there was stadium upgrades, individual stat training, team chemistry, sponsors, full lists of transfers, no fixture congestion, jump-in during simulations, a fan reputation gauge, the list goes on...

Yet, they've stripped away features, only to re-introduce them with one half-arsed effort every year (if we're lucky), then make a big song and dance about it like they're blessing gamers with unrivaled effort and innovation.

Having played the beta some of these features are new but as you said some aren't at all.

And it's going to be a real slog playing career mode with the new match sharpness feature. You need to do it everyday so it slows the game down both in terms of how long it takes to get through a day but also my console was really struggling to deal with it.

Doesn't really matter what features they put in anyway, if the AI is going to be so easy on the highest levels then it doesn't matter. Shame PES has neglected Master League as well because the match to match gameplay, particularly for career, is so much better
