Stephen Hughes Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 Is he good then? Never actually watched him play.
Muzzy_Larsson Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 Seen this lad against Rangers earlier in the Europa League and he looked very good. 1
Popular Post Finnegan Posted 4 August 2020 Popular Post Posted 4 August 2020 (edited) Pretty disgusting of Barca tbh to be buying the poor kid for 30m in January just to try and sell him for profit without playing him six months later, more than likely always the plan just to try and fund some other 120m purchase. And all the while Mendes taking what % of the enormous fees? They've fallen a long, long way from Mes Que Un Club, the Catalan institution that used to thrive off nurturing and developing local youth from the ground up in the world's best academy. They're just Galacticos Jr these days. Edited 4 August 2020 by Finnegan 5

Harry96 Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 Finally a rumour worth getting behind. Definitely passes the name test. I’m shocked the fact that Barcelona paid 31m euros for him and I’ve not even heard of him before today. 1
RowlattsFox Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 Never heard of him, let alone know whether he'd be great or not. But a new name is always exciting. I'd prefer a loan, big gamble otherwise. Barca make signings like this all the time, some will turn out great and others will be let go, probably at a profit so I wouldn't read too much into them only signing him in January.

They're just Galacticos Jr these days. It's not like they've just locked up up for 6 months though. He went back to Braga and did really well to be honest. It's also worth noting that we're trying to sign him, as opposed to Barca trying to offload him to us.
Popular Post VLC86 Posted 4 August 2020 Popular Post Posted 4 August 2020 Without meaning to go a bit Martin Allen I’m willing to sanction it based on that first YouTube clip alone. 6

RowlattsFox Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 We've done alright in recent years but I still wondered what the reaction when his agent approaches him and says Leicester are interested in you. Going to be lots of interest all over Europe, especially on loan.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 Not a clue who he is but GEERRIIIMMMIINNN
dylanlegend Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 So they signed him for 31mill never played him probably realised he’s not up to standard and gone sell for 50mill? Although on the surface his could be great signing unknown quantities for club record fees rarely end well
Mickyblueeyes Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 Not a clue who he is. However, the fact we are in the conversation shows how much progress we have made in the last few years. Barca to Leicester - what a move.
Ric Flair Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 This stinks of them turning a quick profit if true but we definitely wanted him in January if reports are to be believed. I'd be fairly content with a loan deal with or without a view to a permanent deal or if after numerous conversations they at least let us sign Alex Collado then that will do. Lets all do the Conger-ton
Koke Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 He reminds me of Mahrez. If he releases the ball quicker he could become the new Eden Hazard.

Deeg67 Posted 4 August 2020 Posted 4 August 2020 Sale or loan, he'd be at Leicester 2 seasons max. But he'd generate a profit for us just like Barca (hell, we might even sell him back to them) and that's how a club like us needs to do business. Truthfully, he's a level or two above our pay grade under normal circumstances. But if we can pull it off, fantastic.

Stand out points about him: - Dribbling. A truly wonderful dribbler, we are talking Mahrez levels, if not slightly better! Not as good a first touch, but a better overall dribbler. - Good physical attributes. usually these type of players are small and slight with a low centre of gravity. This kid is 6 foot tall and quite broad shouldered, yet can still shift his feet quickly. - Good decision making. Has a very good picture of the game. This type of player would easily get straight into the first team. He's got all of the positive points of Barnes and Gray but without the negatives. The downside is that he's a young foreign player coming into a new league, and would need time to adapt. But in terms of quality, he's got it. I think it would be a good move for the player too, he will play every week for us and become a star, and can then head back to Barcelona in a few years time. I have watched the YouTube video and apart from cutting in and scoring with his left foot, not much more excitement. He seems composed in front of goal and in the last third but little sign of engaging and beating defenders, chop backs or elusive spins to outwit a defender. I am not sure if this guy will be getting us off our seats and for £45m I think we could do better. Ziyech was £40m and a seasoned professional and we would surely be paying a lot for the Barcelona brand sticker. 2
