I remember seeing a tweet like this maybe a year and a half ago and thinking it was a tricky question with little between them. Now you'd have to say Maddison is comfortably bottom of the pile. For his own sake, he needs to set himself straight.

Needs dropping but I have faith he will bounce back, looks like he maybe should knuckle down in training and perhaps take his head out of his arse and grow up. Still I guess he’s ok until Perez is back in 2 games then he MAY be dropped.

If I am being brutally honest I think all 4, whilst brilliant in patches, are vastly overrated.

He's going through a huge change in his life with a partner and Child to tend with.

It calls for lots of readjustments fr him personally, some easy and some difficult.

 

In one sense I understand Brendan supporting him, But on another it doesn't seem fair to others in the squad.

Brendan needs to be careful as you can lose a dressing room very easily if players feel they are not being treated fairly.

 

Let's just hope he gets back to form quickly.

Bench him for a few games, make him want to get his hunger back. Make him want to be in the team because if he's a passenger in the team (and sadly too often in some games he is), you want them to kind of refocus and regain confidence. Footballers hate when they're not playing and you'd hope Maddison would realise he's not undroppable by taking him out of the limelight temporarily.

Been bobbins for a while now for what ever reason or it could be numerous reasons . Today was the first time I noticed that he just looked so disinterested and it looked like he was just going through the motions . Something clearly isn’t right . The difficult thing is how to deal with it . Some players need benching and it gives them a rocket up their arse and sorts them out . Others if benched can have the reverse effect and make them worse . One thing for sure something needs to change as we can’t keep carrying him . Glad I’m not a manager .

We must be the only team that plays a 10 with two wingers, full backs pushing on, without two holding players.

 

For me the balance of the team isn’t right, be much better with a solid 3 in the middle, Ndidi holding and Tielemans KDH/Soumare dovetailing as 8’s.

 

If Maddison can’t play off the left or right, like the vast majority of playmakers have to these days (Mount, Foden, Grealish, Sterling, Havertz), then he doesn’t play, simple.

 

Too much of a luxury and I’d rather keep 2 wingers and free up Tielemans more

Forgetting what has gone before, he's been a total passanger for 3 games now and he must surely be feeling some pressure for his position. Players shouldn't just be able to be automatic starters, if he doesn't buck his ideas up I worry it's more us as fans who will pay for it, rather than him. For whatever reason he seems untouchable.
