Stoke 0-4 LCFC - Post-Match Thread

Recommended Posts

As well as our quality, what stood out for me was the team’s work rate.

Stoke pressed us very hard in the first half but our players more than matched them.

Pleased to see two of our most underrated players - Albrighton and Perez - get on the scoresheet. Thought Praet played nicely too, gutted for him that he’s picked up an injury.

Tielemans in the 2nd half was superb. Stoke pushing up their central midfielders to chase the game meant he had more space and he ran the show. Also impressed by how he handled Stoke’s physicality, he showed good strength.

Sexy sexy football. Really pleasing to watch.  :scarf: Shame about Praet. :(

Looking forward to seeing the highlights in something a little bit more hi def than Legovision.

Many great performances but let's salute the main provider of our silky play today:

Shame about Praet getting injured. Praet-Tielemans have such a good understanding.

Thought we were excellent. Few sloppy passes early on had me on edge but after the goal, that was pretty much faultless. Can't work out against teams like Stoke if we were excellent, or they were naff. Probably both.

Youri, Wes and JJ playing with such confidence it's great to see.

Seems to me when all three Belgians are on the pitch together, they bring the best out of each other, especially Praet. He’s at his best he’s around his compatriots. Gutted about his hammy, hoping it isn’t too serious.

Excellent. Far too good.

Tielemans, Praet and Castagne outstanding in the second half. Praet running ability off the ball is what makes him different to anyone else we have. Some of the link up play was brilliant. Really hope Praet injury isn't as bad as it looks.

Unusual use of subs today when 5 available. Not that it would've stopped Praet injury.

The energy down our right side, with marc, dennis, and timmy was fantastic. Shame no one told them at 4-0 up to calm down. I know they were probably enjoying themselves, but that's a bit of a needless injury.

Praet’s hobbling off will likely mean no departure for Choudhury this month. Real shame as he came into game and was spot on in the second half. Question remains whether we need one more forward in and around the 18 if we want to keep going in 3 competitions, another injury there and we start to look a bit light. We may well see Ricardo operating further forward when he’s back fit as you can’t leave Justin or Castagne out of the side.
