LCFC vs Man City - Match Thread - 03/04/2021 (Sky Sports)

Vardy has to do more to stay onside for the disallowed goal. We can't afford to squander chances today. We've done enough to deserve to go in level at HT, but the longer Man C have almost exclusive possession the more likely they will score. We can keep them out indefinitely. Maddison for Perez will give us a bit more quality and produce a few unexpected moments that will cause problems for their defence.

They looked like they had 5 or 6 players camped in pressing us near the corner flag at one point. All it needs is one ball and a break and we could punish them.

Kasper is a worry, he makes it seem like it's a game plan but often by the time he kicks it, it seems like he's just hoofing it anywhere.

Captain Hindsight here, going with 2 up top was a mistake, overrun in the middle but can't really take off either Vardy or Nacho because then we have nowhere to go if we need a goal.

Needed a big balls decision on the first 11, drop player of the month, in form Kel or Vardy who loves a goal against Man City.

For all the talk of their bench, it's good to see ours with genuine quality on it again. Rodgers has the ability to really changes things if required for the first time in a long time.

It may sound risky, but I wonder if we should get Ricardo on for Amartey. Ricardo is a good defender and Amartey’s height is not as much needed as Man City are mostly passing on the group. But we may need Ricardo to help get us out of our own half.

Squeaky bum time this half...

We surely cannot play like this all game.

Pep has done his homework really well and is taking the ball out of Youri’s hands. We have to find another way to hold possession and/or initiate attacks. The good thing is that it’s still 0-0 and Vardy’s last minute offside “goal” will serve as a reminder to keep them worried.

PS: Ref has got to start protecting Youri. He’s not only bring harried, but hammered as well.

COME ON YER BEAUTIFUL FOXES! LET’S GO DO THIS!! :scarf:

Sometimes to just have to accept who you are facing and go for the shithousing. Damn they are some team and giving us no time on the ball at all.

That said, Anthony Taylor makes the endless list of shit refs. No freekick to KDB, who then nearly scores from it. Yellow carding Ndidi, the first time we stop a counter after Fernandinho has done it twice without consequence. Giving them freekick against Ndidi as he wins the ball and hits their man after, but do not give us one when the same thing happend later. Just want some consistency. Please.

Probably get slaughtered here but Kaspers distribution has been awful at times so has youri

Not sure your assessment of Man City is quite right? We are lucky it is still 0-0. They had a goal ruled offside. They hit the bar. Mahrez had a glorious chance to score with so much of goal to hit. Jesus nearly squared a pass for a tab in. They had a few other shots close to goal. Yes, I think we defended ok but Man City dominated and we are lucky we are not behind.

We may need a smash and grab here.

We also had a goal disallowed.

Thats the very least I’d expect with their boring pOsSeSiOn FoOtBaLl. “ThE wAy FoOtBaLl ShOuLd Be PlAyEd...”

I’ve admitted we won’t last too much longer playing the way we’re playing but it’s a fine balance. This is the way to play against Man City.

They are an incredibly boring team and the sooner Pep and his ‘Possession football’ fanboys **** off the better.

Kasper's distribution has been poor but that's what happens when you are under constant pressure.

It's not his 'distribution'. It's that frigging chopped ball out to where our right back isn't.

If this was a Boxing match it would have been stopped 😂

If this was a boxing match City would winning rounds with flash footwork and superior quality but.... Struggling to land anything significant, with most shots landing on the gloves and arms.

Leicester despite losing rounds know they only have to land once and its over.
