Ban them from European competition this season and give the places to other teams in the order they finish?

Teams like arsenal and maybe spurs can be banned next season as they probably won't qualify for Europe anyway.

Although, are participating clubs guaranteed a fixed amount of money or does it depend on the revenue generated per tournament?

I thought about that but as it stands only Arsenal would be punished hardest as they would go into the bottom 3, whereas if its the start of next season and all 6 started say -20 or -30 points its a hell of an ask for all to overcome that handicap during the season, i honestly couldnt see chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and maybe united and liverpool getting to far up the table. They would have to get 50 points just to accumulate 20 or 30 points which would still keep them in  relegation trouble.

....looking to relegate them is the equivalent of what they were trying to do, leave the league!!!

A 20 point deduction now would take them out of the Europe for next season and only Man.City would still make it though. Fines would be a way to remedy this as well and if the Champions League is worth £60m then the minimum fine should be the same.

There has to be punishment...

If These clubs hadnt agreed to having their Owners, this wouldn t be a problem...

The  clubs always  boast.. "we are in this together"...PL & EUFA must dish  out punishments sanctions..!!

Or all future clubs no matter how small or big, will have the right to ignore any Type of future Punishment or fine...

Quoting this has being discrimitory..!!

cannot see anything happening now, think it will just be forgotten about. It's wrong but money talks and these teams do pull vast's amounts of revenue for the Premier lge. Shocking really...

...could just be they announce points deduction at the end of the season!!!

No point declaring it now as it would detract from the relegation promotion battles in motion at the present. The sensible thing would be to announce a decision at the end of the season

I wish they'd all get points deducted but we all know they won't.  I remember Spurs getting a big points deduction in the nineties, and Man City getting their European ban and they just argue till that stuff goes away.

Probably should be satisfied with the spectacular failure of all this but I'd really like to stick the proverbial boot in to these charlatans.

Who do we reckon had the most fans who thought the Super League was a good idea?  I think it's between Liverpool and Spurs from what I've seen.

Talksport caller had a good punishment. Each team must play their owner in the starting 11 for the remaining games

Man City probably could play no one in goal and still win when they're on their game.

The only way to hit owners without hitting players and fans is to remove them immediately and put the clubs up for auction whilst they receive no money for selling but then you'd probably still get people who will push for things like this.

I agree that the players and fans aren't to blame but when was the last points deduction, demotion, relegation for something they did do?

Why is it when it’s a big club we couldn’t possibly talks points away because Ethan punishment would affect fans, players and communities but...

Cambridge

Rotherham

Bolton

Leeds

Boston

Bournemouth

Portsmouth

Coventry

Halifax

Darlington

Southampton

Chester

Port Vale

Darlington

Bury

Wigan

I’m sure there are many more whose fans, players and communities were not affected in any way at all...

Happy for them to leave the league, it’s all about making sure they don’t close the shop at the top end.
If they brought in a 20 point deduction to all teams, which IMO would be about right and this led to Arsenal being relegated then I and many others have no issue with them leaving the league.

This would still mean Man City and possibly Man Utd playing Champions League with us and West Ham and Leeds, Wolves and Villa all getting European spots.

In this scenario all clubs are punished equally and it may teach the clubs something about sporting merit - 1 is fairly relegated (If you can be relegated because of this, you really shouldn’t have agreed to join the super league).

3 will miss out on Europe and two will still get in, based on sporting achievements this year.

I think most would still go on to challenge top four despite the point deduction but I think Arsenal would struggle the most in fact they could be favourites to go down. Who would have thought it.

Not sure that's the case.  Even if an incoming transfer ban weren't applied, decent players might think twice about joining a club facing such a points handicap at the start of next season so the "big six" wouldn't be able to strengthen in the way they usually do.

The fans were happy enough to have these rich owners bankrolling them to the top now they need to deal with the consequences

I think Man Utd fans have always been against the Glazers, almost from day one to be fair to them.

Where I do take umbridge against their entitled fans is when listening to TalkSport the other day one of their fans with such a strong Manchester accent :ermm: claimed the Glazers had "Run their club into the ground".

Now whatever the Glazers have or havn't done I do not see how they've been 'run into the ground', far from it, espcially when other clubs such a Bury being a prime example have quite literally been run into the ground ultimately being left with no club at all, other clubs who have had points deduction for going into adminstration etc, but now we're being told by the bias media, suits, powers that be who govern the game, ex players and fans of the clubs in question apparently you can't do this to the 'big 6' as it punishes the fans and players.
