Am I the only one that didn’t view that one as a mistimed header? He was just leaping to block anyone behinds view. I do that myself when I know I’ll never reach the ball.

Context is always needed. We're missing two of the three first choice centre-backs. He's been here two days. He came on at a tough time in the game. We had to rush to get him involved today.

Correct. The instant criticism is ridiculous in my opinion. He hasn't played any preseason, was thrown into a game we were getting torn apart in and he's had the grand total of two days training. Give him a chance ffs

Wow, some of the comments here - glad posters like you are being sensible. You're right about the instant criticism, completely ridiculous.

Vestergaard switched us from defence straight into attack with two great passes. He’ll get better with the heading interceptions.

Jesus Christ, this is a new low on here surely. Poor lad signed yesterday, hasn’t played preseason, barely got to know his new team mates and comes on for half an hour when we’ve got our backs to the wall. And some have already decided he’s crap…

He’s literally signed yesterday and played no minutes for Southampton in pre season. Anyone writing him off or criticising should probably focus on themselves rather than venting about a new signing

Yes because they almost scored off both mistimed headers, no one at premier league level goes for headers as a distraction, it takes you out of the game for 2-3 seconds just for a chance of throwing off the other team, if he was genuinely doing that on purpose that's way worse than if he was actually going for it because it's a huge risk with very little upside. If he cant get to it he should at least try and stay on his feet and get a block in. I'll let him off as other's have said he hasnt had pre season and it was his debut, dont think rodgers shouldve risked him though with that level of match fitness.

I noticed today that Soumare played with his back to their goal for 99% of the time. Really odd looking  love him though.

Yeah just so disappointing that he didn’t score a hat trick within 10 minutes of coming on, such a waste of money, I mean at least not getting man of the match to appease all of the fans, chuffing Nora!
