Vestergaard has simply been played wrongly. He’s even slower than Maguire!
If you sign and play Vestie, you have to use him as CB alongside another one with pace

Vestergaard can never be the last man. In a foot race he’ll always lose. But if you have him close to the covering CB he’ll win a lot in the air

He could look ok alongside little Wes in this respect.

But, like Maguire, he’ll always be best with 3 CB’s

Does anyone think Fofana and Vestergaard could be a half decent partnership? There is something there I reckon. Sort of half classic big man little man partnership and half classic eighties buddy cop movie.

The famous good cop/ shite cop routine - might work I suppose

In his early games he was played in a very high line and left exposed to runners with Ndidi out of the team if memory serves. In a backs to the wall situation he is pretty useful, and his passing is obviously excellent. Agree he could be pretty good alongside Fofana…As long as he isn’t left 1v1 by team positioning.

I knew Brendan was losing his hair but crikey.

Vestergaard would tower over Arnold and even the leprechaun is taller than Danny.

Nah that photo was taken straight after signing wearing Rodgers preferred choice for the away kit.

We need to somehow play him enough to make him seem valuable, whilst not playing him too much and allowing teams to see how awful he is. Everton basically have 50p to spend, so I wouldn't expect any big bids from them :D

Reluctantly, but not a penny less than 30 Million...

Wouldn't be surprised to see us loan him out next season.

Get him off the wage bill and a platform to play and secure a move.

Everton have no money to spend so could make sense.

Will you all stop dissing him

their supporters will be on here looking and their owner is very responsive to fan opinion now !!

I'd be devastated if he left. He makes Moore, Maldini and Van Dijk  look like rank amateurs.

We must retain his services at all costs or play hardball for a really competitive price.

I quite agree

We shouldn't pay anyone more than a couple of million to take him

I don't think Vestergaard in himself is a bad defender, he just doesn't fit how we play at all. He's a decent one in another side or league. Just being realistic would love to sell him asap. Get rid of an obvious mistake

Why? He does everything slowly enough.

Leicester City defender Jannik Vestergaard has revealed that he has no idea why he is not getting opportunities to feature in the Premier League this season.

Vestergaard’s future at Leicester was under the scanner in the summer but the club decided to hold on to him.

However, the Dane has only played in an EFL Cup game and has not even made a single matchday squad in the Premier League this season.

Vestergaard was regularly used during pre-season and he admitted that he is not sure about the reasons why he is not even getting a look in under Brendan Rodgers in the Premier League.

He claimed that Leicester indicated in the summer that they were happy for him to stay, but once the Premier League started, he found himself out of the squad completely.

The centre-back told Danish outlet BT: “I must honestly admit that I don’t know what has happened.

“I came back to the club after the summer holiday and after two international games for Denmark with wins over Austria and world champions France.

“I spoke to the club and got the clear impression that they were happy with me and that we will start from scratch in the new season and I would be given the same chance to play as everyone else.

“But when the league started, I was suddenly completely outside and have only started one cup match, where I played well and kept a clean sheet.

“Afterwards, I was on the outside again.”

He stressed that he is having a great time in training at Leicester and insisted that he is fit to play if Rodgers decides to pick him.

Vestergaard believes he can come into the team and help Leicester to turn their Premier League form around.

“I work hard in training, where things are actually going really well for me and I still believe that I will get the chance.

“I am completely ready if the manager chooses to use me and my qualities.

“I am in good physical shape and believe that I could help the club get back on track and out of the difficult situation in terms of results.”

Jannik Vestergaard has rubbished claims that he decided to decline Fulham and stay at Leicester City for financial reasons in the summer.

The 30-year-old defender’s future at Leicester was under the scanner all summer where several clubs showed interest in him.

A number of teams were keen to sign the centre-back on loan but Vestergaard had a serious offer to move to Fulham on a permanent deal towards the end of the transfer window.

The Dane decided against the move and there were rumours that Fulham were not prepared to match his wages at Leicester.

However, Vestergaard refuted such claims and insisted that money had nothing to do with him deciding to continue at Leicester.

He stressed that at that moment it seemed a better decision to stay at Leicester rather than move to Fulham.

The centre-back told Danish outlet BT: “I don’t want to specifically talk about numbers but I have also heard myself; that some speculated that I stayed at Leicester because of the wages.

“But it was never about the money.

“I don’t know where this kind of thing comes out – it’s pure rubbish.

“There was no difference in the finances.

“At the time, it still seemed like a better sporting option to stay at Leicester.”

Vestergaard had must just one appearance in the EFL Cup and is yet to make a matchday squad for Leicester in the Premier League this season.

Queens Park Rangers manager Michael Beale has insisted that Liverpool will remain a special place for him.
