I wonder how their very salty sea dog fans think about it . . . . .

they were so "mardy" when he left for us

They’ll be like all football fans. If he does well, they’ll quickly get over it. If he doesn’t, they’ll vent their spleen at him ever having the audacity to leave a club ‘as big’ as Celtic.

In the meantime, as we drift down to the second tier, ‘Brand Brendan’ makes himself another nice few million.

What a crackers world

Brendan Rodgers has a tough battle to win over some of Celtic's most vociferous fans after returning to the Scottish champions.

Rodgers had signed a three-year contract to replace Ange Postecoglou as manager, four years after his sudden departure to Leicester City after winning seven out of seven domestic trophies with the Hoops. Despite that success and the time that has passed, some Celtic supporters remain bitter about Rodgers' exit.

The North Curve Celtic Twitter account, which represents the Green Brigade and other members of the standing section at Celtic Park, soon posted a photograph of the banner they displayed at Hearts 24 hours after he left for Leicester in February 2019.

The sign read: “You traded immortality for mediocrity. Never a Celt. Always a fraud.”

Read an article about Rodgers needing to give an apology to Celtic fans. The only set of supporters he should (but won't) be apologising to is ours for stealing a living for a year and ruining our set up.

Celtic fans will probably demand it, ours would want selfies with him.

Anyone - in the media or the Celtic fan base - who seriously tries to paint this is as anything other than a desperate backwards career move for Rodgers (he was never going to get another top Premier League job after screwing us over) is as deluded as the man himself.

Our new manager will be aware of the common  Italian idiom “minestra riscaldata” (literally “reheated stew”, which cautions against trying to reignite an old flame). Fingers crossed it comes true in Glasgow.

It's hilarious that he knows his rep is badly damaged. Ironically if he'd stayed at Celtic he'd have (wrongly) walked into a Spurs kind of job. Which like others have said is exactly why he's done it.

I couldn't stomach watching his interview or press conference but I'm guessing he's not had anything to say about our relegation?

If ever there was a cushy bolt-hole for the a**ehole, it's this faded club living on its dim recollection of now long gone glories. It's now the biggest fish in a tiny, tiny puddle. It's a football backwater. I suspect Cardiff or Swansea would be a challenge for either of the clubs.

Celtic and Rodgers deserve each other.

Can't wait for his cult following on here to start saying 'maybe it wasn't Rodgers fault after all' when they're 4-0 up against Raith Rovers after half an hour.

I'll say it in advance......**** off

Well if we continue to be run like a shitshow; losing players for nothing, having persistent injury crises and signing absolute rubbish it'd be hard to argue.

He's quite obviously made sure no one asks him about the end of his time at Leicester. Tubes doesn't bring up anything but Celtic, and they made sure it was only Scottish Media selected by Brendan allowed in to the Press Conference.

He is doing a good job of rewriting history to suit Brendan yet again.

He should have been a slimy salesman. He'd be great at it.
