At least he's scored goals, Cullen has hit double figure once in his career.

Keillor-Dunn has at least hit double figure 4 or 5 times.

Hopefully he's cheap, if we have paid 2 or 3m I will be unhappy.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

You were slagging off utility players mate lol

Banter aside, is Cullen’s loan spell at Lincoln enough for a red flag? Possibly.

One of those signings that I view as could be better, could be worse, and for me personally, I’d much rather see a striker come in who has proven that they can score double figures worth on a consistent basis.

But to add some context, with Russell Martin’s clear love for Cullen, and the way Russell likes certain forwards to operate, it’s hardly surprising we are signing him.

As I said in a earlier post, if you want someone to blame for this signing, then point the blame at Russell’s door.

If Adebayo stays fit and finds some form he is the top goal scorer In league. He bagged a fair few goals in the premier league

big If though

Massive IF I agree, but that’s where we are as a club unfortunately.

If he’d played a whole season injury free in League 1 last year and scored 15 he’d be in the Champ now

Which show we have'nt learnt.

We brought Skipp because Cooper liked him and had worked with him.

Utility players are normal shit, name a good one.

Always worry about utility players who can play several positions.

General means they are two shit to hold down a single positions.

Graham Cross was a utility player, would love to have him in the team now in his prime!

Steve Walsh played centre back and centre forward on several occasions!

Guys we can't go into a season without bodies, our young, inexperienced academy players will not last the 50 something games we will play this season. There will be dips in form, there WILL be injuries, this is just simple squad building

Bloody hell. Lol

At this point i dont care. We signed players on stupid wages who were useless. We are in league 1, nobody has a clue how any new recruits will perform there we just have to wait and see.

Given our financial mess, just bend over and hope you don't have to take it. If you do, just hope you get lubed up first.

How many number 10s do we need, Chaplin, BCDR and Cullen.

We need wingers and a number 9.

People trying to convince themselves his a number 9 need to listen to Swansen fans.

We need to get out of this league and I’ve no doubt that Culllen strengthens our 11 (+7).

He isn’t ideal and I’d much rather our scouting and recruitment department were more creative but he’ll do for this season.

He absolutely should not deny Braybrooke, Alves and Page minutes.

EDIT: I don’t know the fee suggested for this but I’m guessing it isn’t 7 figures and I’d be quite horrified if it was.

Sure, Swansea fans say hes a 10 which would usually be then end of the argument but seeing as our current manager played him as a #9....

Then voice more anger at Russell then.

This signing clearly reeks of two things, 1. Played for Martin before, 2. Suits the way he plays.

If you haven’t, I’d go and listen to Russell’s Radio Leicester interview with Owynn, especially the bit where he talks transfers and strikers.

Signing Cullen doesn’t enamour me in any way, but with what Russell says about wanting variety in attack, then I can see why he’d want to reunite with Cullen again.

The money we waste on this transfer is money we could have put towards getting Dom Ballard in. 23 goals in 40 games at this level, at the age of 21 for a team in Orient who played a similar style of football to what we will play under Martin.

I won’t hold it against the lad and hope he does well here but unless we get an actual goal scorer in, I’ll be quietly fuming.

Maybe think I'm just disappointed we are spending money on a 27 year old.

Definitely Martin signing.

We can‘t field only 19- or 20-year olds.

The trick is in the mix.

Wish the guy well here.

We‘re a bit of an unknown now, with so many new players or younger players thrown into the limelight.

I‘m cautiously optimistic.

Difference is, Cullen doesn‘t cost £20m in transfer fees.

Quite a statement, that.

Just off the top of my head: Gullit, Rijkaard, Beckenbauerr, Philip Lahm, James Milner, David Alaba, Camavinga, Javier Zanetti, Kimmich, Fernando Llorente, Ashley Young, Emre Can, Geremi, Luiz Fernandez...

And the best of them all - Sir Jeffrey Schlupp.

Ballard would cost only £2m more if we pushed it aggressively.

Don’t think he is off the table,‘wouldn’t be surprised if we made a few more sales and tried for him later in the window if he lasts

A lot of overreactions here. Unless I’ve missed something no one knows the fee or his contract so no point getting worked up over something we don’t know anything about yet.

His record in the championship isn’t amazing but is good enough that he has a real chance of being a success at this level, playing under a manager who’s clearly got the best out of him.

My main concern over this transfer, at this point, would be the same concern I’d have over Ballard if we splashed out £6/7m on him, and it’s that he seems to not have a great physical presence or pace. Two things this team is in dire need of.

What he does bring is experience, whilst still having at the very least 3/4 years of playing at his peak ahead of him. Allegedly also a good character and hard worker which would be no doubt what these younger players need around them.
