nnfox Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 He is a sensible guy. If you asked him straight after today's game, he'd probably struggle to say no given the tremendous ovation he received. I'm sure he'll go away for a couple of weeks. Spend some time with his family and take himself away from the emotion of the situation. He wanted to come and play in the Premier League and he has done it now. He has achieved more in the game than most world class players have. I have no doubt that he has enjoyed the challenge this season but he will do what is best for him and his family. If he stays - brilliant. If he goes - Thank you so much and good luck.
BoneDog Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 I'm normally a tears of joy kind of guy, but if he leaves I'll be blubbing like I did when I watched The Champ.
Izzy Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 I'm normally a tears of joy kind of guy, but if he leaves I'll be blubbing like I did when I watched The Champ. It's O.K. it's only football. Life will go on
AKCJ Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 He's an absolute God. I think he's got far too much class than to play for another Premier League side. He'll go to Argentina I think or back to Inter to coach. He's really taken to Leicester City. I'll respect any decision he's made. He doesn't owe us anything.
harpendenfox Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 In an age of sportsman with over inflated egos, Esteban has been the complete opposite. It has been a joy to watch him perform for us. A class act if ever there was one
shailen Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Always known he was a good player, but when I heard he was coming here, I was skeptical. I thought he would literally come here for a paycheck and not even try. How wrong was I? I cannot even put into words how good he has been and without exaggerating he could still be playing for Argentina. The fact that he cares, more than most is why he is and always will be a winner. He wanted this as much as any other player which is staggering considering he has won almost everything. I don't exaggerate just because of my love for the guy, but he has been so far ahead of most of the players I've seen in our team and the opposition. The vision and the execution of some of the things he tries are unreal. That is why some players at the top level are there, because they churn out consistent top quality performances. Why Inter let him go, especially where they have been recently, I will never know?
4everfox Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 "My work here is done..." Please please please don't be true. I would literally cry if he left for the first time since Pearson left last time.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Cambiasso with Pearson changed the team around, he and Pearson talked about what was needed to move the team forward at the start of April
weller54 Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Sadly, I think he's played his last game for us!.. I wonder if there's ever been a finer, more influential player to have worn a Leicester City shirt?... How the hell are we going to replace the guy???

sylofox Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Not sure even if he was staying that he would have acted any different today. Today was about the whole team not one man. Think we may find out very soon if he has gone. I would think he has said straight off yes or no to another season.
Stevosevic Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 He's irreplaceable. We won't get anyone else that has this much of a calming Influence on the younger players and then there's his quality with the football.
weller54 Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Just pray he decides to stay for one more season!.. Losing his presence and influence around the place will be devastating!.. Scary thought!
SecretPro Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 I've just kidnapped him - looks like he will be staying.
theessexfox Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Incredible season he's had, I don't think 30,000 people have ever been so sure of a goal than when he lifted that wand of a left foot back today for the 4th. Showed why we love him today, absolutely class. Remember that Inter fan who came on? 'Traffic warden' was it?
iancognito Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 It's not about being a one man team. Some players add to the team, some improve on what you've got but it's the fact that he makes the other players around him play better. He can tackle, pass and finish and he's a natural leader. Never seen anybody pick out 40 yard passes as accurately as he does. It's been a long, long time since we had anybody who bossed a game like him and he's certainly the best midfielder I've seen in a City shirt in my 28 years supporting the team.
The Doctor Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Incredible season he's had, I don't think 30,000 people have ever been so sure of a goal than when he lifted that wand of a left foot back today for the 4th. The one who bragged about designing cardboard boxes, and said of him: http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/96860-cambiasso/page-8#entry3120620 If you expect him to run, you're wrong. If you expect him to cheer when he's left on the bench, forget it. If you think he has very good feet despite he cannot run anymore, no, this is not what he was good for. He's not a "Pirlo-like" player. somehow managing to follow him for 10 years and still be as wrong as humanly possible.
MC Prussian Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Can we please stop reading too much into the lap of appreciation? Yes, he doesn't have to continue playing for us, he's out of contract. No, just because he's been clapping all sides of the stadium and appreciating the support throughout the season doesn't mean he'll definitely be gone. Let him enjoy a week off with the team in Thailand, followed by a deserved holiday with his immediate family. We'll know more by the middle/end of June.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Hopefully he's told one of our lads how to be Cambiasso. Just wow.
