SCP1906 Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Second half was really amazing.Getting this far was a great achievement for the Club.Congrats to the lads and to all Foxes fans.
PhillippaT Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Unfortunately the immovable object won that one... Good try though! Now we need a couple of the right players to get back here after next season
Joefox Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 What more can you ask for really? It's been a great ride. Proud of the team! Back to some sort of normality now I guess.
MC Prussian Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 It was an almost insurmountable task against this Atlético Madrid side. Even though we've fouled out of the competition, I don't feel down at all. We fought, we battled, we gave it our best against one of the best teams in the world, potentially the best back four on the planet, a two-time Europa League winner, ten-time Spanish champion, featuring world-class players among their ranks. We had our chances, we gave a good account of ourselves, it's been a terrific European adventure. I'm so proud. The second half was a joy to the eye of the beholder, a class performance, every single player gave everything for the shirt. I'll even look past Mahrez' frustrating ego trip tonight in the first half, because he came out of the tunnel much-improved, playing in the hole behind our strikers. Onwards and upwards. Let's learn a lesson here and take it into the summer and a more appropriate recruitment in June/July/August.

We should have gone at them right from the beginning. We gave too much respect. There are no mugs and a brillant team and you can't expect to beat them by going half hearted. Jesus, if we only played with the same intensity in the first like in the second, who knows... Great game anyway. We'd have been knackered after 45 mins and they'd have creamed us.

AKCJ Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Proud of that. Gave into everything in he second half.
Aus Fox Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Just watched our goal again, and as Vardy puts the ball in the net, Ben Chilwell is absolutely tearing the ref a new one. If Vardy doesn't put the ball in the net, it's possibly a penalty and a red card for deliberate hand ball.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Massively proud of them, if Vardy or Ulloa get that second then I genuinely think we'd have done it. Also proud of how much respect Atletico gave us compared to Sevilla. They are a world class team and had the experience to see it out so professionally. We couldn't have gone for it more in the first half, we had to try and keep it at 1-0 as long as possible and then go for it, they got the goal just as they'd lulled us into thinking we were on top, showing their class yet again. Just beaten by a much much better side and we gave it a good go, just couldn't quite manage it. Couldn't ask for anything more. Shakey got it tactically spot on 2nd half again, Mahrez frustrated though.
Beliall Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Screaming at the TV for 90 mins. haven't been that involved in a game for a long time. I love this team, thank you for a great campaign, and giving it everything second half. on another day we might have won that.
fazzyfox Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 So proud of that, showed no fear, just that pesky new rule that fouls outside the box can be penalties that we couldn't cope with. We really had them rocking, they were like a boxer on the ropes just those jammy blocks kept them in it.

Innovindil Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Nothing wrong with that. We pasted them second half and bar a couple of last ditch blocks we'd have had those goals. We need to keep playing that formation, we'd blow teams away.

Guest Col city fan Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Proud of the effort. Quality wise, the best team went through.
Izzy Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Tears of pride. I can't believe how many times this team has made me cry over the last few seasons. I'm such a girl

Or we'd have scored and they would have been forced to go higher on the pitch. We'll never know. The lads were brillant in the second and the opponent got a run for their money. That's all that matters now.

lgfualol Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Can't be too disappointed. The players surpassed my expectations and we pretty much just battered Atletico Madrid, who are known for not being battered. We were awesome. Good times.
49er Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Brilliant performance. Why didn't Shakespeare go for it and bring on Gray for Morgan. What was the point of bringing Amartey on when we needed goals?
