Keiriel Posted 20 December 2018 Share Posted 20 December 2018 (edited) Over the past few games that Nacho has played, he's been getting more and more visibly frustrated, and with Maddison dropping deep more often than not, Kelechi has found himself with no support. We can see that he can't play as a lone striker, yet Puel keeps shoehorning him into that position. If it's a tactical issue, either the system gets tweaked to get the best out of him, or he moves on to greener pastures. It's as simple as that. If it's an attitude problem, Claude will sort him out or ship him off. Maybe it's a little bit of both. I still believe he'll come good though, but that's just me. If anything, he's been incredibly lucky to be given so many chances when he's constantly been undeservedly picked ahead of Okazaki or Maddison despite never showing any glimpses those players have. If he hadn't cost £25mil based on a few sub appearances for Man City, he'd have been playing for the U23s ages ago and we'd have forgotten him and no one would've batted an eyelid given his level of performances have shown he obviously isn't good enough for this level. Quite often, when it's requiring of a centre forward to make a run from the half way line or even a dash into the box, he's overtaken by our midfielders, suggesting either he's lazy or doesn't even see the opportunities or have the ability to read the play. It's what happens to young lads that get used by the big clubs. Needs to realise that if he wants to make it as a footballer, it's not going to be handed to him on a plate. To be honest I don't care whether his first touch is non-existent or if he can't finish as long as he looks like he's trying and working for the team because that alone will create chances for others. The lad looks distraught and clueless if I’m honest, no confidence for someone who in the past has been a clinical finisher. Get a goal scoring striker (if their is one around) in the January window, loan Iheanacho out to a Championship team and hopefully he will bag a few goals and come back buzzing...
