Nope but thanks

My thoughts were Puel out in the summer and Brendan in.

Not exactly doing the business at Burnley.

I'd be incredibly disappointed with this. Bloke is a massive fraud and an utter twat to boot.

We already have a manager who is doing a reasonable job. He is carrying out his remit - we've got our problems, just like we have had in 95+% of our seasons in existence. He deserves more time.

This is just an unnecessary risk. I can't stand the way our players and our fans have become.

Whilst I agree that he is doing a reasonable job there have been decisions that he has made which has caused a lot of fans to lose faith

continuing to pick morgan

freezing out Silva and Iborra and only playing defensive minded centre mids

chopping and changing of attacking players

selling/loaning out two strikers without replacing them

signing diabete and ghezzal

negative tactics and team selection

I could go on...

Now? Probably not. Summer? After what I've been told today it seems Puel is gone and BR is coming here. Believe it if you wish, or don't belive it.

He wants to see this season out with Celtic.

i believe that tbh, i cant imagine he'd come here during the middle of the season, and im guessing Rodgers would like to leave Celtic on a high so to speak in winning the league etc again and ending his spell there on a high

Your post sums up what can make this forum insuffurable at times.

One of the main problems with Foxestalk is finding balance. Yes, there are posters who are so anti-Puel it becomes difficult to read at times but for you to say he's doing a "reasonable job" and to imply you'd prefer Puel over Rodgers is just as ridiculous.

Agree that balance is difficult, but i wouldnt say its unreasonable to say Puel is doing a reasonable job

Really we are about where we woupd be expected to be atm

The problem we will have if we sack him in the summer is that the pressure will be on because expectations will be to improve on what Puel has done

Thats if we finish this seasom top half.  If we do and then bring Rogers in anything less than 7th will be seen by many as a failure.  Piles pressure on him and the club

Morgan has not been any worse than our other defenders, he's been fine this season, as he was last season. It's clear he's going to be phased out from the end of this season. Maguire is having a poor season yet seems to get little to no criticism.

Silva is shit and Iborra was clearly past it and was poor in the league games he did play.

You can't blame recruitment solely on Puel. We have constraints that would have had an impact on trying to get a striker in. And wtf good would having Ulloa here do, he was an absolute donkey by the time he left!

Diabate was a low risk, cheap signing that hasn't worked out so far - hardly crime of the century. Ghezzal is obviously a bit shit and that could have been foreseen but as has been explained many times he was an obvious panic buy because our recruitment team failed to get a top player in to replace Mahrez. That said as we've seen recently Ghezzals stats actually don't measure up that unfavourable against our other wide players.

I notice you're criticising Puel for sticking with one player and critcising him for rotating others. Pretty much sums it up - if he kept changing the defenders because they weren't producing you'd then be criticising him for chopping and changing the defending players. It's ridiculous.

Again there were no complaints playing 3 defensive-minded midfielders when we were beating Chelsea and Man City. Then there was uproar when he switched that for a more offensive formation at home. Then there was uproar when he switched back to that for the next home game. It's ridiculous.

We're in the top half with a young first team and the squad being overhauled. Sometimes the tactics are negative but overall he is doing a reasonable job. He deserves more time.

Be a better fit than Rafa or Rodgers in my opinion.

He is doing a reasonable job and I would prefer Puel over Rodgers. You don't need to be an Puelite extremist to think that. If I was as you are suggesting surely I'd be saying he was doing a fantastic job?

I think Rodgers can cope with the pressure, he has managed in the premier league before.

Puel can cope with the pressure. Thats not really the issue

If Rogers comes in and we dont get a solid 7th and we go out of the cups do you not think fans will see it as a failure and get on his back?

I'd sooner shoot myself than have that gravel voiced budget Mourinho in charge

Not entirely sure how anyone could call Rodgers a fraud... he was a slip away from taking THIS squad to a title... I mean yes they had Suarez and Coutinho but look at the rest of it!!

Whatever it is your smoking can you pass it around the room.

That would be like winning the lotto and binning off your battered old mini for a battered old mini.

Absolutely carried by the front four and powered by one of the best individual seasons the PL has ever seen in Suarez.

The connection between a lot of the shit players there is that Rodgers signed them. And he's doing the same at Celtic. He even bought Balotelli ffs.

They blew a 3-0 lead at Palace, it wasn't Gerrard's slip that cost them the title.

Agree with all bar your opening sentence. Sadly there's no importance put on stability any more, so if there has to be change then I think BR would be a good fit. The most important thing for me is whoever is in charge continues to give priority to developing and bringing through our young talent
