Emiliano Sala Missing.

Emiliano Sala has not reported back to Cardiff training after his 18m move.

 

Channel Island coastguards have reported the two seater plane he was travelling in dropped off the flight radar near Alderney last night.

 

Thoughts are with Sala and Cardiff and hope for the best.

That's very sad.  Presumably rescuers are still searching for the wreckage so I hope there's good news, albeit it looks unlikely.

I know it's obvious to say, but this feels so similar to the helicopter crash in that you'd think that if there was good news that it would be published immediately.

 

Unfortunately the chances of survival would be very slim if the plane has indeed gone into the channel.

prospects not good for survival. Says pilot declared some sort of emergency but then vanished. Even if survived the ditching then chances of survival in water at this time of year are limited to maybe a few minutes at best without specialist equipment

There is zero chance for survival, it’s blind hope. Not good at all, light aircraft come down all around the world regularly, it’s just we don’t hear about it, it’s really not good at all.

Yes unfortunately. In those conditions (nighttime, winter, sea and bad weather) even if you survive the crash you're dead

Praying they had some sort of survival equipment on board should they have been able to ditch the plane somewhat safely, maybe even a life raft? Piper Malibu seems to small an aircraft to carry one? Cant even bring myself to think how cold that water would have been.

 

Tragic under any circumstance, but given our own tragedy this hits hard.

Would presume life vest would be the only equipment, possibly a life raft (don't know). Unlikely to be any regulations for a private flight like this. For chopper flights out to the rigs in the North Sea you have to conform to specialist clothing policy under your survival suit to increase chances of survival, but I presume such regs do not apply to private flights

Awful. As those above have said absolutely no chance even if the landing was good.

 

So sad and feels very close to home. I hope we will be able to show our support just as Cardiff have done for us.

Such tragic news and just feels really earie that it happened to a Cardiff City player as Cardiff were the first team we played after the Helicopter crash at the Kingpower. now the two sets of fans share an even bigger tragic bond and my deepest sympathies are to the players family and everyone to do with Cardiff City football club.
