Jamie Vardy Appreciation

I thought that too but no mention on the BBC website, not sure if fantasy leagues such as FPL count those?

FF is a bit more generous with assists including giving them for assisting an OG.

Vardy has 12 equal with Grealish and Fernandes, one behind Kane and one ahead of KDBScreenshot_20210315-211811.thumb.png.21e6cebe5db3162f587eeff1b66441c9.png

Still getting touted for England despite being retired lol

God that squad is awful. It would be hilarious if Phillips, Ayling, Bamford and Harrison got called up all at the same time playing for a bang average mid-table outfit, when Hodgson took an injured Wilshere over Drinkwater, completely snubbed Simpson and Albrighton, and benched Vardy after we won the league. How long did it take Maddison, Barnes, Maguire, Chilwell to get caps?

Loftus-Cheek? What year is it? Tomori, White, Konsa are just hipster picks with no basis whatsoever.

Obviously.

What an absolute porker from De Laet this is. There's no way they stayed in a hotel the night before a home game that was also an evening match to boot. This isn't to say Vardy didn't do this on an away game, maybe even when he equalled the record away at Newcastle, I seem to recall he asked Ranieri to stick some cans on the bus home for the lads so he was probably hanging out his harris.

The finishing was obviously highly questionable on Sunday but his involvement is what is the most important element. Prior to Sunday his recent performances had been very low key and not only was he not scoring but not even being that integral in any of the play.

I've no doubt if he maintains this influence on games as Sunday then the goals will quickly return and what a time for it to do so at the business end of the season as we try and secure top 4 and possibly the FA Cup.

I just sense he's about to go on one of his scoring sprees.

Yeah it makes no sense at all does it for the Man U game? Ranieri did have them all in different rituals it seems though, the smart Italian suits for example (which I loved by the way) so there's a small chance he might have had home game hotels for moral, some of the players lived in Manchester still didn't they? Didn't Drinkwater and few others travel down from up north?

What I find odd is players sharing these stories before a player has retired though, it's a tad disrespectful IMO. Even that coach driver is probably still working and probably wouldn't want that story sharing.

I know Van Gaal used to make the man utd squad stay in a hotel before a home game. Had a mate work for a traveling casino that they hired one night.

So its not beyond the realms of possibility.

The last goal he scored for us was against Liverpool on 13th February, which he only scored because of a massive cock up between the Liverpool keeper and defender

Before that his last open play goal was in the 3-0 win against Brighton on 13th December

Always offside, can't really beat players with pace anymore, and just doesn't look confident in front of goal when he does get a chance

I absolutely love the guy, but we need to sign someone new in the summer to either lead the line as the main striker, or as a partner for Nacho (as he is much better playing in a 2)

Really poor today. This isn't about scapegoating, it feels like playing with 10 sometimes with Vardy on the field and it affects our team. Kelechi is putting himself about much more and showing Vardy up, not only with his all round game but now the goals too. If we had 2 Kelechis we have won that game.

He seems well off the pace for you. You could count the positive contributions from today's match on one hand. Not beating anyone with pace, mistiming runs behind, and not linking play at all. A total passenger. With his history, you can understand that he is just off form at the moment and has the class that will always shine through, but taking the age and injury history into account, it is hard not to be worried this is something that he won't recover from.

Should take a leaf out of Guardiola's book with his Aguero management in recent seasons and start to rotate and rest. Will take some of the pressure off and given his injury niggles I think we'll maximise his use. I have every faith he will be back among the goals again

He was poor today and has been for a while.

I wont be jumping the gun on this as he is just the same as any other player who suffers a crisis of form, especially as he looked as sharp as ever earlier in the season. The coins in the air if a mixture of age and more likely his injury has meant he isn't going to reach the levels of earlier in the season again. He could easily get a couple of goals and find that Vardy confidence/arrogance/anger but at the moment, he almost looks like he knows he is cooked.

I hope he joins Kelechi in scoring some goals in the last 7 games. We need him more than ever!

What a lot of bollocks from half of you. Even whilst injured/getting back up to speed he still creates more goals than anyone else with his movement and is still feared more than anyone else by opposition defenders.

Watch what happens if defenders suddenly stop paying him his respect and sticking to him as much as they do at the minute. Guaranteed Indian summer next season.
