Koke Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 A repeat of last season would be nice but our overall record against them is shocking. They do have a poor away record this season though. Decent team but beatable.
foxfanazer Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Start like we did against West ham and it could be embarrassing. These last games should be a good opportunity to give the fans something to cheer about after what has been a pretty forgettable season
StanSP Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Sadly not able to make this as had made plans thinking the game would be on the Monday (and I thought Napoli wouldn't be such screw-ups at home at least in EL ). A much more open, attacking opponent which I'm hoping will work in our favour. We've come up against a couple of sides who sit back and become much tougher to break down and the old problems are still there so I think this will be quite an open game, which could be beneficial for us. The other plus is that they've got their EL semi-final on the Thursday after this game so maybe they'll rest a few of their bigger players? I'm also glad they kept a clean sheet against Watford as that was their first in the league away from home cos no doubt it would have happened against us in this fixture if not!
Aus Fox Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 They play today, Wednesday, Sunday, Thursday. At some point they will have to rest some players, if we want it, these are there for the taking. Arsenal’s best chance of CL next season is winning the Europa League. Hopefully they will prioritise the Valencia game.

Hopefully they will prioritise the Valencia game. Not necessarily. They're still in with a shout of the top 4 and their run-in is: Palace Wolves (a) Leicester (a) Brighton Burnley (a) Bit of a mix and match as to the difficulty but they are in 4th with a game in hand over Utd. But as said above, I hope they prioritise the Valencia game too!
justfoxes Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 It is a winnable game they’ve had some shocking results against lower placed sides, their defence at times can be AWOL would really love to beat these bridesmaids especially after their celebration photo when they just beat us Simpson sending off for a contentious decision couple seasons back !! if Brendan can get us playing to our best as we know we can then I’m sure we can get something from this game, now Barnes has scored his first then hopefully it’ll open the floodgates for him and as been told by Baggies fans the lad will be amazing for us and hopefully score for fun ! Heart is saying 2-2 Head says 1-2 but last few games of the season some might realise they are playing for their LCFC future so may up their game (hopefully !) We may have lost 7th place so Brendan May tinker with the side for those last few games and be able to see where he needs to replace or bring in quality, looks like we may be getting Sturridge in the Summer really hope it works out for the lad and us and it’ll be certainly interesting to see who Brendan will bring in over the Summer ?
Stevosevic Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 No reason we can't win this but we'll need to play well. Their away form really is poor....but so is our home form
foxes21 Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Schmeichel Pereira, Maguire, Soyuncu, Chilwell Tielemans, Choudhury, Maddison Ndukwu, Vardy, Barnes Subs: Ward, Evans, Ughelumba, Ndidi, Tavares, Albrighton, Iheanacho
lgfualol Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Schmeich Pereira evans maguire chilwell Choudhury Tielemans Ndidi Barnes Vardy Maddison
Foxxed Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Will Bren play Hamza or at least put him on the bench? As he's defensively weak, will Barnes start?
Gazza M Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Very early to predict a line up. Based on recent performances Gray is going to do really well to get in. I think Barnes starts next time.
iancognito Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Much happier playing against an Arsenal style of football than a Newcastle one. They need the points to get top 4 and need to come out and play. As long as the back 4 and Wilf keep it tight enough we can nick something maybe all 3.
Nicolo Barella Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 We can win this. If the players could adapt well, I'd like to see: Schmeichel Ricardo Evans Maguire Chilwell Tielemans Ndidi Hamza Maddison Barnes Vardy
StriderHiryu Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Earlier in the season we outplayed them in the first half, conceded a sloppy goal before half time and then got dominated as Ozil ran the show. I felt we tried in that game to beat Arsenal at their own game but ultimately failed. But we showed they could be got at. I feel like they are beatable and Rodgers smashed them several times with Pool and had good results with Swansea too. Admittedly that was during Wenger’s reign though. I’ll go for an optimistic 2-1 win but it depends if we are on the beach or not.

Sunbury Fox Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 On TV. Playing Arsenal. The omens really aren't good. Our record against this lot is laughably bad.
DerbyshireFox Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Eminently winnable. They will allow space for Tielemans and Maddison to play balls in behind. They will likely rest players in a bid to get to the Europa final which might help us as well. We did so well there first half in October, there should be nothing to fear on our own patch. Optimistic for a 2-1 win
Gubbins Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 The ultimate bogey side. Yes they are poor defensively but so are we and they have a better attack. The fact that it's not away at least gives us a chance but 2 wins against them in close to 30 years doesn't make me optimistic.
LestaAl Posted 21 April 2019 Posted 21 April 2019 Can we just try and get a result against them. We have not had much success with them in recent years even though we have often played well at times.
