Guest Markyblue Posted 24 November 2019 Share Posted 24 November 2019 The thing about man Uniteds youngsters is they will play bit parts until the clamour from their entitled fans forces more so called big name signings and the merry go round will continue.....hopefully. Worst thing that can happen to the league right now is Man Utd get a transfer ban and have to stop being the league's charitable benefactors.

When things are going well then it can be taken as a bit of banter as these things can be just be a lighthearted rib. If things aren't going well then clearly it becomes another boot to be kicked down with. It stops being banter and is clearly used in a mocking sense and that would be bullying. TBH the 'good ebening' jokes went stale and overused about a month ago. But it is tasteless now for supposed professional journalists to go "You're a ****ing meme!" We havn't robbed them of anything, they (The 'big clubs') created that monster themselves and continue to do so, inflating the market with every transfer. The 'smaller clubs' don't need to sell anymore, ultimately there is no point in having an unhappy player at your club so from that point of view it's probably within their interests to sell, but what i'm saying is they can name a price, say take it or leave it, they can drive a harder negotiation, the 'big clubs' don't have as much power as they used too and have to pay through the nose nowadays, that's their own making. Popular Post Foxxed Posted 24 November 2019 Popular Post Share Posted 24 November 2019 I love Maguire. He’s a wonderful example of why it’s a bad idea to leave us and why it’s a bad idea to take our players. He’s a gigantic world famous sign that reads “think twice”.
The Bear Posted 24 November 2019 Share Posted 24 November 2019 Perfect result for us today. Keeps us in 5th. We play Sheff Utd at home next Sunday so that should be a good game. Looked like Moussett did his hammy today though which will help us.
Col city fan Posted 24 November 2019 Share Posted 24 November 2019 Maguire was absolutely fookin awful tonight. And I think that comeback’s just saved Ole his job.

We all said his weak points would be highlighted playing for a club like United and they have. I don’t for one second buy all this football twitter bollocks about him being sad he left us, but it is funny...mainly because it’s United he’s gone to “Location: Egypt” - yep. That’ll be the Cafe! TJB-fox Posted 24 November 2019 Share Posted 24 November 2019 I think Maguire is a bit of a fair weather player. Don’t get me wrong I really like the guy and appreciate his great performances for us but is he the guy, that rock solid centre half and leader you NEED when the chips are down? I don’t think he is. Let’s be honest he ‘made his name’ in the 2018 World Cup. Southgate played with five defenders and sometimes two defensively minded midfielders against some bang average sides. It was easy for Harry to look like a world beater. Our defence did not improve markedly when he played for us. At £80m he really is a bust

He's a decent centre half, that's it. When you pay £80m you want a genuine World Class player which he isn't. Maguire will never be as good as Ferdinand, Vidic, Stam etc. When Maguire was here I always found it strange that his mistakes were glossed over yet Morgan would make a mistake and get battered. 1

They will be competing at the top Level shortly. I fancy by the EOS,they will be Provinz their potential... In the PL there has been a positive wind blowing....quite a few sides are showing they are willing to introduce their young Talent.... Including the International sides, around Europe... Too many Posters are so blind,by Throwing out snidey, cynical remarks they are missing and blind to These positive changes within football.... Leicester might of brought in tue thought of creating a younger based squad, but others have shown they are more ready and willing,to give their own young Guns a chance....one reason Why I believe many of Southgates critics are well off,and ( with cynical bias opinionating )also missing the changes he has implemented....Ditto with OG... I’ll respectfully disagree with parts of that. I agree with you on some parts. I see it the same as @Markyblue The young un’s at Man U will cut it.....until a new manager is appointed then he wants to sign some high profile, older names. Chelsea have had their hand forced. Whether they can resist spending Roman’s money on marquee signings when the ban is lifted, who knows? I’m sure other clubs are realising investing in youth is the way forward though. As for sniping and making sarky comments, I do but I won’t apologise for it. Anyone my age (mid 40s) growing up and going to school in Leicester in the 80s had to put up with shitloads of plastic Man U and Liverpool fans. Loads of the fvckers. They were the teams of the 80s, no doubt. I endured years of crap as a Leicester fan and this is my payback. I’ll enjoy it with a whiskey! The thing that many of those self-entitled plastics don’t realise is, you can’t just chuck money at their problems. Just buying Maddison and Chilwell won’t give you the Leicester blueprint. Same for Everton. They think taking Steve Walsh would have suddenly unearthed them a Mahrez or Kante. It isn’t that straightforward. It‘s everything going on behind the scenes at Leicester...that’s what other clubs still do not realise. Wheeler, Rudkin, Beaglehole etc. As Man Utd are finding out. As Everton found out. Sadly, as some players are finding out (Drinky, Maguire) etc. You can’t just take a player or someone like Walsh, and expect the same result as when they were here. Man U can build a squad of young talent all they like, but while they’ve got Woodward/Woodwood and that circus behind the scenes, it’s all short sighted, short term planning.

Part of the job spec is the ability to communicate effectively with players and the media in the country where they are working. If they want a top job in the Premier League they should spend some of their small fortunes on taking English lessons - and furthermore improving their English continuously while they are here - so that they can speak sufficiently well to AVOID people taking the piss out of them. I don’t buy into your theory one little bit. And just for the record, yeah, I have a degree in French and German and have worked in those countries. If I couldn’t make myself properly understood, it embarrassed me and I vowed to improve my vocabulary and fluency. It’s not that difficult if you set your mind to it and make a real effort. Puel, Emery and the like get no sympathy from me.
