We were in games all year, that was the crazy frustration. All season we looked decent besides a few horrors where Nigel got desperate (four defensive midfielders away at Newcastle?) and like we were so close to everything just clicking. It wasn't really a surprise to us as fans when things came good because we got promoted looking like a team that would make impact in the Prem, we even started (draw with Everton, win against United) looking like a Kloppesque team, like England's Dortmund ready to make a splash as a counter attacking force. The foundations of our title win were all there on show, except Ngolo, it was more a surprise we were bottom not quite clicking than that we recovered tbh. I did spend so much of that season just baffled at how what was panning out, was. It just made no sense how we could go from what we were in 2013/14 to being unable to get a result. We were on another stratosphere to that QPR side that spent so much of the season above us. None of it made sense to me. Admittedly by April I thought it just isn't happening for us but once it did click I felt vindicated in my bafflement There was some rubbish served up for sure (but even in 2013/14 we had our off days) but I really did think we were just extraordinarily unlucky a lot of the time. 1

The Bear Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 I don't see why we need to postpone games. Just have all the players and staff tested every few days. If someone gets it then isolate them and retest every one. 2
mozartfox Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 We have acted very prudently by isolating Vardy since Christmas....... excellent news he got the all clear last Monday night. 2
Staffs Fox Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 Tonight’s game is only off because some of the Arsenal players actual met with the Olympiakos owner after their game a few weeks back. This Friday is last day of the 14 day isolation period so the weekend will not be affected

I’m not saying it’s the correct decision but that is their actual reason. Which I find a bit odd because as you say a lot of time has passed since and games have been played but I suppose they’ve got to shown to be doing something even if it is futile

The Bear Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 (edited) If Arsenal players affected have already been in isolation for 14 days this Friday, then it can't have been any of the first team any way, as they all played against West Ham four days ago. Edited 11 March 2020 by The Bear

I don't think they have been in isolation though as they wouldn't have known the owner had coronavirus at the time of meeting him?

But if the Arsenal player's have been in contact with the Greek fella ( and they've headed the ball in the West Ham game).. then the West Ham players have picked the ball up to take a throw in (without washing their hands first).. then both teams could be infected?. ...FFS!!!
CUJimmy Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 2 hours ago, Cardiff_Fox said: What about the West Ham players who played against said Arsenal players last weekend? I guess if all Arsenal players and staff have been tested and are clear (big ‘if’ I know) then West Ham players and staff won’t have become infected through that route. However, if even one person from Arsenal is infected then all of West Ham needs to self-isolate and be tested. The problem is the potentially affected group grows so quickly when you do this that it is probably safer to suspend the whole thing now. Footballers being young and in the main healthy will mostly have minor symptoms anyway, as a country the priority must be to target resources at the most vulnerable not the most high profile.

You weren't supposed to do the calculation...I didn't even though my figures weren't correct they were nearer at the time than your figures which include 3 points gained against Villa which we didn't have when I posted this. 10 hours ago, urban.spaceman said: I think he meant geographically. Sportsmail sources claim Drinkwater, who joined Villa on loan until the end of the season in January, headbutted Jota in training on Monday during an angry exchange with his colleague. The flashpoint leaves the 30-year-old's stint at Villa Park in serious jeopardy, with club officials said to be giving serious consideration to cutting short his spell in the Midlands. It is understood talks with regards to Drinkwater's future took place on Tuesday, but a final decision on whether he returns to Chelsea is yet to be made. Foxxed Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 Was he violent and drunk before? He never came across like that before. He’s making Simpson look like an elder statesman. Sad to see his decline.
somebum Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 Drinkwaters big money move has ruined him as a player. 1

davieG Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 Drinkwater had problems when he was with us I'm sure I remember NP having to have some serious conversations with him probably Ken Way as well. 1
norwichfox Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 Maybe Drinkwater just doesn't like Birmingham...very understandable, and this is an easy way to get pushed back to the Bright Lights of London Town.
Nalis Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 Loved Drinkwater as a player for us but as a person he's always come across as a bit of a wan ker. Not really surprised by this.

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 (edited) Drinkwater is in a mess, his career is nosediving and it seems to be affecting him personally too. I'd be seriously concerned for his mental health to be honest. Edited 11 March 2020 by ROB-THE-BLUE 4
Leicester_Loyal Posted 11 March 2020 Posted 11 March 2020 Drinkwater was arrogant and a bit of an arsehole even when he was here. Met him on a night out once and he thought a lot of himself, but was pretty sound to me to be fair to him, just wasn’t very nice to the bouncers and nightclub owner Hopefully he sorts himself out, was a class player for us.
