Get well soon. Really cruel what happened to him and James Justin, both were absolutely superb for us.

You can all blame me for JJ’s injury as well as HB’s. I had literally put a bet on them making the euro’s with England and stood to win like 4K or summat close to it. Made the bet at the very start of the season. It was obviously the universe punishing me for Leicester going too well. Universe “No you can’t; get engaged, get promoted (@work), have a FA cup final, finish in the top four and win a bet” ... me “she coulda said no, I’d have been happy with that and all the others happening”

Ahh mate, I think you deserve a bad beat pay out for that.

It's not serving us well IMO, apart from convincing Rodgers to keep Kelechi on the pitch.  The games we're winning - CP, Southampton - aren't really the result of strong performances.  We're relying on gutting them out and Kel playing hero ball.  West Ham was dominating enough but truthfully they were so lifeless that they'd have lost to most Championship sides the way they played.

I think we're winning matches - against bad teams - in spite of the formation rather than because of it.

Well, what do you suggest as an alternative, then, bearing in mind the players we currently have available?

I think it's crystal clear that the formation we're using is the best way to get our best available players on the pitch, and while results are as good as they've been, I see no reason to mess with it.

It was obvious 6 weeks was never realistic, although I did think he'd be back as a sub for the final 3 games, so that's a shame. This hurts our bench options for the last few games, but at least we're prepared for it.

I think deep down inside we all knew Harvey wasn't coming back this season and perform as if nothing had happened. Maybe its our destiny for it to be this way? One thing for sure is when seasons done and I really hope we qualify for the champions league and win the FA cup that we can reflect on the massive contribution Harvey and JJ made for half the season. Yes we would be phenomenal if we had those 2 in the side right now at full fitness. We are where we are and its an amazing thing what we're doing. So lets cheer on the boys for this final charge of games and finish strong! COYF :scarf:

*I heard that he injured his knee again after banging it on the back of Ayoze's settee when the lights were off.

The kid is injured and you are making jokes about it and bringing up the party again?

*disclaimer wish I’d thought of that one 😉

Massive blow for all concerned but getting him fit and repaired is essential. We've seen in the recent past that rushing players back isn't good either.

Need him for August.

What this does is demand more from James Maddison. Its time for him to deliver again. He looked in a bad way on Monday and him not taking set pieces will be due to his hip and not the fact he's been pony at them this season which is a big worry.

The only positive is that Rodgers won't disrupt the Iheanacho / Vardy partneship.

I assume next season / when all players are fit we will revert back to one up front which doesn't benefit Kelechi.

As others have implied, there is an upside for us if not for poor Harvey.
3 CBs & 2 up top is here for the rest of the season, so we can settle on that.

And we have every incentive to reach another final next year for Barnes & JJ!

Why would you assume that?

With all players fit we'll have the choice of playing 3 or 4 at the back and 2 or 1 up front.

We'll have a lot of games and will change accordingly.

Bad news for Barnes, no doubt he'll be gutted to miss the end of his best season, a cup final with us and a shot at the euros.

I doubt we'll ever know but I do wonder what the impact of Covid on the summer schedule has had over the course of the season. We've had a lot of injuries, most notably at the start of the season, and have dealt really well with the rotation on the whole, but I can't help but wonder if the lads have all been pushed further than they would've usually.

It's easy to pick out individual injuries which might be directly related to a tackle or whatever, but the wider issue is still curious. The NFL missed most of their pre-season for 20/21 and had a crazy year for injuries across the board.

Hopefully next season with a full pre-season we will see what this squad is really capable of fully fit and at it's best.

3 career threatening knee injuries to Barnes, JJ and Ricardo in recent times is very unlucky for the club and a tragedy for the players. Wish all of them well and hope they come back strongly next season.

Obviously disappointing. But entirely trust the club to have his long-term interests at heart. Best of luck to the lad, must be gutted. Better to have a job done properly then risk a Hargreaves.

Being a fan, his chance of playing for us in an FA Cup final, will be truly gutting.

His pace would have stretched Chelsea's back line, but we've shown how we can adapt, many times this campaign.

Rsst well Harvey 💙💙

Because we mainly played one up front under him.
