Demarai Gray

Recommended Posts

Rogers has lost the plot and the momentum.

someone please ask him what his plan is to fix this situation? The spectacular fall from grace is entirely on him. Can’t live up the praise and not take the blame when it all falls apart. Not good and we expect much much better from him.

He was 1 of our best players today!!

we finally decided to try and win the game at 70 minutes and then he takes gray off. I think BR has lost us the 2 points today and that’s going to cost us

There certainly were far worser players today, and he's not done enough to warrant taking majority of the criticism

He was still woeful. Not putting his body infront of the ball to win fouls and to ease pressure. There was a few times the ball was there to be challenged for and he didn't try hard enough. Still needs moving on, we can't hide behind two slightly improved performances which only look better because of how poor everyone else has looked.

Barring Soyuncu Evans Kasper and Chillwell who we’re fine, he was the best player in tough circumstances for him.

Im flabbergasted anyone is criticising him.

For me he’s got himself a starting place away to Everton, if we set up our midfield better today we’d have won the game.

The reason he, Vards, nacho and madders were living off scraps is because we’re playing 2DMs, 1 of which is league 1 standard at best

What a strange post match reaction.

He was amongst on three or four players who turned up today. Kept ball in tight situations, some nice touches and a nice cutback cross in second half which someone should've read.

Him, Chilly, Evans and Barnes when he came on were all half decent. Soyuncu and Kelechi and maddison about a 5. The rest a sub par 4.

He was also the most dispossessed player on the pitch.

Gray is the kind of player that will always get the blame because the expectations are just too high. He would develop if he played regularly in a bottom-10 team in the PL where he can try things and get the experience.

He is in a situation where 5/10 and 6/10 performances are not allowed in the eyes of some and he lacks thae game-winning moments (for now) that would make most people look  beyond 89 minutes of average football.

Gray was fine today. Our problem was not getting the ball forward quickly enough. What's he supposed to do when he gets the ball and there's no movement and their team are all in position?

The whole team yet again produced little. Gray tried to be positive. He worked hard.

Some people will always hang him out to dry regardless.

There’s no point in Gray being ‘fine’ or ‘working hard’ - the fact is yet again that he has been given the chance and he simply hasn’t taken it. This is not hanging someone out to dry, this is accepting that it’s not working for the lad when he starts. He is an impact sub for us and after all this time I’m afraid that’s as good as it’s going to get.

He wasn’t the problem, he wasn’t the solution, he wasn’t really anything.

But still comes in for more criticism than the likes of Maddison who does **** all but somehow gets away with it from our fans

I’m not so sure, Maddison gets a bit of stick and he certainly wasn’t great today. However his stats compared to Gray’s speak for themselves. It’s all about influencing the game when you are in a creative role (Goals, assists, chances created) and Maddison influences the game much more than Demi Gray. Simple as that.

Agree. Thought he was our best player first half. Dropped off second half while he was on but we had 0 creativity.

Agree!!  He always received the ball surrounded and blocked by 3 players, only in the 2nd half could he stretch his legs, but again too near the line...

Maddison has got plenty of stick recently, deservedly.

in fairness if we genuinely want a top 5 finish we can’t tolerate players getting regular 5s and 6s...
