The blokes struggling big time. To me it seems to be his decision making and lack of confidence going forward. He puts other players in trouble.

When we had Maguire and then Fofana they did the more creative work driving forward. Obvious Jonny has no real pace so all they tend to do is pass sideways of back. The wing backs don’t help them out enough so mistakes creep in.

Think the lad needs a break, but who have we to come in at the moment.

Other teams know if you close him down he appears to panic. He is our weakest link at the moment.

Said it numerous times that he needs binning off. Youre never going to have any solidity at the back having a rash, clueless, bombscare who is constantly making wrong decisions like him in the team. A solid defence installs confidence in the team, having him does the exact opposite.

This is what Rodgers seems to be doing and it’s bizarre

He seems to have taken players and made them much worse. Soyuncu, Ndidi, Praet, Maddison.. have all gone downhill under Rodgers.

Tbf Soyuncu also improved substantially with Rodgers. Can’t help but feel he got really psyched up for the Euros and was terrible at them.

Again N’Didi I’d say did improve but fcuk knows what’s happened there

He’s looked pretty bad for Turkey too another team with serious issues.

that first 10 min yesterday said it all. We start on the front foot pass well attack and don’t put the ball in the back of the net. Ball gets played the other way but we have control and then Cags has a brain fart and plays a totally unnecessary hospital ball to a suprised youre in front of our goal who can’t control it (defense 101 no-no) and it’s all over. That is all Brendan needs to show on the horror highlight reel today. That kind of stupidity can’t be taken lightly.

either Cags lacks confidence

or he’s scared of ball possesdion

or hes over excited and rash

or he’s just not using his brain & thinking

or all of the above (bench him!)

I reckon he’s been at Dr Jekyll and Mr Hydes potion as he’s bloody awful at times with a couple of half decent performances along the way !

And during matches also.

last night, his pass to Youri was awful that led to the goal, but also made a couple of last minute blocks / challenges in the box.

I think it's probably widely accepted its the 2 highlighted.

So Soyuncu has deteriorated from the first class centre half we were worried Liverpool were coming in for?

What about Maddison, Ndidi, Ricardo, Castagne, Barnes and Vardy,  let alone Iheanacho must have got really bad because despite being last seasons top goalscorer, he can't even get a game?

Perhaps there might be something else?

His agent told him he should be plating for real Madrid.

Our defence is a bombscare. It's time for Rudders to cut his losses and just buy Tarkowski in January in the hope we can get someone to steady the back four.

I think we may have missed the boat.  West Ham are after him apparently and now they are much more attractive proposition.

Nothing more annoying than when an aimless Soyuncu punt upfield goes out harmlessly for a goal kick and the camera pans on him, apologetic arm in the air and chewing his gum…….his gum chewing really triggers me for some reason !

didnt rodgers sign praet? always thought praet was bang average anyway tbh. ndidi was good last season and maddison was very good last season before his injury. this season ndidi, soyuncu and castagne have been crap.

Exactly he gets a rush of blood to the head at times making awful passes or Tackles nowhere near as good as last season !

You forgot to mention his stupid long gormless face and greasy long hair. He looks like one of those neglected donkeys you see in TV adverts for animal charities. I absolutely loathe him. Can’t he just leave? Did Puel sign this oaf? I bet those shiny wife-beaters he wears under the shirt stink.

He's cack.

This made me laugh for some reason.

I suppose you can't put it simpler than that. Thing is though, we know that he really isn't. I thought that he acquitted himself really well in the FA Cup final and when he first came into the team, looked assured, confident and strong on the ball. The problem is, like many of our players currently, he's cack now. Because of this and the frequency of his calamitous blunders, we completely ignore it on the occasions when he does execute a well timed tackle, block a run or make a decent pass. Perhaps it's a given that he should? - and I accept, with the exception of Evans, they aren't even doing the basics correctly. I really don't like zonal defending, but if executed well, it does have some benefits...thing is, because we're so shite, you have a dubious system that makes you extremely vulnerable if it isn't being done properly, then you negate those benefits and you are going to concede.

So you do occasionally see glimpses of the old Söyüncü, but they are few and far between. The diagonal 50 yard pass to switch play against Watford in blizzard conditions was one example - perhaps that's why people missed it? - or maybe, they simply wanted to?

I saw that pass against Watford. And I expect it. Because thats how good a defender he is when he's not cleaning up the mess his teammates leave. I don't know much about football but I do know defense takes 11 players. And it must very hard to play a high line when everyone isn't doing their job. Him, Evans and Kasper cant play last ditch tackles and saves all match. No player is perfect.
