K1FOX Posted 29 November 2019 Posted 29 November 2019 Looks like there’s a lot of closet Liverpool fans in this thread. Grow a pair and enjoy the ride. That’s what we’re in it for
ian_marshall Posted 29 November 2019 Posted 29 November 2019 Don't worry lads and lasses, if Liverpool win the league it's only because the other teams all had issues and a poor season . This season, we've seen the reigning Champions ravaged with injury, one of the so called top 4 unable to sign new players, two of the traditional top 6 club's form drop so badly that they're competing for mid table mediocrity, little old Leicester become the nearest challengers (because the rest of the league is so bad ), Arsenal ran by a bunch of muppets, and a newly promoted side containing David McGoldrick and Billy Sharp gatecrashing the top 6. Replace the drug doping conspiracy theories with VAR doping and we have our new story for why Liverpool were crowned Champions of the Premier League. The reality is somewhat different however and the media will put an alternative spin on it. They'll be heralded as the best Liverpool team ever who competed in the richest league in the world with the standard being so high that the world's most expensive defender was only ever able to dream about playing in Europe the following season, whilst overcoming a conspiracy to derail them with fixture congestion. They'll be calls to permanently etch Jurgen Klopp's face on to the Premier League trophy, the West End will see the launch of Liverpool The Ballet featuring Sadio Mane performing the Fish Dive, and the Xmas 2020 number one selling DVD will be the Stockley Park Liverpool 19/20 Season Review.

StriderHiryu Posted 29 November 2019 Posted 29 November 2019 Fabinho being out could be huge news for us! Just about to hit the busiest part of the year and Liverpool losing probably their best player so far this season for those games might be the point where the door is opened. Realistically to have any chance we have to beat them at the KP on boxing day, but it's certainly not beyond us to do so.
Poznan34 Posted 29 November 2019 Posted 29 November 2019 "Further assessment on the injury has discovered Fabinho will be out of action until the New Year."
Nicolo Barella Posted 29 November 2019 Posted 29 November 2019 Liverpool's game against us is their 9th in 26 days... That's 1 game in less than every 3 days

That's 1 game in less than every 3 days To be fair, one of those games will be an U23's fixture for Liverpool. So realistically it's their 8th match. Still, pretty much a game every 3 days. However, we are in the same position more or less. And arguably, our squad is much lighter. December will be make or break for a lot of teams, including ourselves. If we are still comfortably in the Top 4 by 3rd January, then it is looking very good for the season.
FerrisBueller Posted 29 November 2019 Posted 29 November 2019 If they do win the league, are we all agreed that it's because none of the 'Big 6' turned up?
The boy Linacre Posted 29 November 2019 Posted 29 November 2019 Liverpool have fallen over the line in so many games this season, half would say that's how you win titles and that's true, half would say that has to catch up with you at some point. Also they just aren't as good at the back as last season, 2 clean sheets so far in the League. Do believe they will drop points in December. If we have any chance we HAVE to turn them over down here on Boxing Day and in the meantime pick up 10-12 pts in the next 4 games ideally. Think Liverpool and Man C are more vulnerable this year than last. Let's take advantage and apply some pressure, a number of the squad have been in a title race and WON!!!

David Hankey Posted 30 November 2019 Author Posted 30 November 2019 Well it looks as though Man City are stumbling so it will be up to Leicester City to catch and surpass Liverpool.
Guest Eamonn Posted 30 November 2019 Posted 30 November 2019 Let them believe it's their's . Let them have the trophy now. It can only add to the pressure on them.
Corky Posted 30 November 2019 Posted 30 November 2019 We're going to have to beat them on Boxing Day, that's clear. Their matches until that point are Everton and Watford at home, Bournemouth away. Can't see any dropped points there. We're probably going to need to beat Man City away too just before Christmas. We're having to win every game to keep up some sort of pace. The title is a long way off and until we have the chance to play Liverpool I can't see it changing.
filthyfox Posted 30 November 2019 Posted 30 November 2019 If we dont keep winning, then it WILL be LiVARpool's title
OadbyBlue Posted 30 November 2019 Posted 30 November 2019 Let’s just enjoy the season and try not to get too caught up in a title race, to be second in December is in itself a great achievement, as would a top 4 finish.

Champions league spot and a cup would be a superb season but it would be hilarious to sleep walk into another title race

That's not a bad idea. The mere mention of Hamza on the team sheet will send Kloff into shock horror. Not to mention some of their team worrying about getting injured. It might just be the edge we need along with a good performance.
Joefox Posted 30 November 2019 Posted 30 November 2019 I still don’t think they’ll win it. They will lose at some point and will bottle it.
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 November 2019 Posted 30 November 2019 This place is actually going to become the fighting cock of 19-20 isn’t it. Enjoiy where we are and **** Liverpool.
