Aston Villa (EFL Cup 2nd Leg) - 28/01/2020 - Match Thread

Recommended Posts

Nyland unfortunately is having a blinder. We could be 3 - 1 up. Having said that, with their lead, they will drop back more and more and we need to be more direct and sharper to get the ball behind them. Too many times toward the end of the half were our forwards playing with their backs to goal.

I am beginning to think Rodgers is a good coach but not a good tactician. Seems to be getting out maneuvered since November. Also he has no plan B when all is not working. Slow play out from the back and let Villa get all their players get behind the ball

Come on. They've had one shot on target and scored it.

Their keeper is having the game of his life.

Bollocks to it being too close. Utter wank reason that. They fvcked up but won't admit it.

I've said this before . He's not a patch on Puel when it comes to reading a game in the heat of action.

Keeper having another game of his life against us.

He picked the ball out the net 5/6 times against Man City a couple of weeks back and he didn’t get near any.

Big half now need 2 up top to pull the Villa defence about as the 10 men behind the ball we’re struggling to move them about.

Barnes and Perez not really in the game so far and need to push 10 yards higher up the pitch as not influencing anything (contrast to West Ham)

Defence needs to move the ball into midfield quicker as we’re just allowing them to get back into shape and isn’t helping our play.

Big 45 for Brendan might as well go for broke with being 1 down.

Be a sucker punch to lose a semi final that has been fairy 1 sided with only 1 team wanting to attack.

Villa happy to sit behind the ball at home shows how poor they are

Rule states that if a player makes his body unnaturally bigger using his hand or arm then it is a penalty. This is exactly what Nakamba has done. The ref in the studio has the replays to view and should be aware of the rule book but yet still manages to make the wrong decision. And surely the clear and obvious error bollocks wouldn't count here as the ref has missed it.

Apparently makamba is too close to the shot for VAR to give a pen - fookin nonsense ..... keep your arm down and it doesn’t matter.

It’s not too close if you have time to move your bloody arm into that position ffs.

Fantastic.  So now they’re misapplying they rule and unashamedly trying to justify it.

Left his cards in the glove box of his car?

You can see Mike Dean is going to make a huge decision in this game really hoping it’s for us not against us thought we should have had a penalty for hand ball but not given !

Can also see The Vile pull out a new formation second half the Bus formation park it in front of the goal at every attack we go at !!🤯
