Now you are comparing dimi and Jeff.  Comparison is a must use tool in forum debate.   I often find myself comparing the performance of posters on ft. I think we need to look at mean likes per post... this will increase the quality of our content

People on here love to hate on Drinkwater but he was an integral part of the greatest result we've ever had in football and he knew how to pass a ball forward to Vardy. When YT helps us win the premiership you can come back and compare him to Drinky.

Only silly thing on this thread is your comment, and the assumption that I'm in anyway trying to put down Drinkwater. Drinkwater is and will always be a LCFC legend in my eyes as an integral part of the PL and Championship winning side.

 

However both him a Youri play pretty much the same role as a number 8, which is to influences the game at both end of pitch, support the attackers during build up play and track back to defensive duties when possession is lost.

 

Explain to me what what was different about Drinkwater role to Youri, other then the philosophy of the team they played in. Drinkwater played in a team that was more direct, whilst Youri plays in a more possession base team, I think they would both be equally be at home in ether style. 

 

So in your mind no one can compare Riccardo to Simpson and say Riccardo is a better RB, because Simpson won the league?

Same. Think he's had a pretty mediocre season overall. But today was one of his best performances for a while weirdly.

Nah he's nowhere near their level.

We need better depth though so when he tires we can bring on someone who's at least nearly as good as he is technically and offensively. I really don't think Praet is it, and Choudhury/Mendy/James certainly aren't.

But we have lost games with both of them on the pitch.  When Maddison isn't playing, Tielemans looks like he takes more responsibility in the middle. I think Tielemans is a better player without Maddison, Leicester City aren't necessarily a better team without Maddison.

The guy is slow and ponderous! Offers no goal threat whatsoever! He looks very unfit and that to me is inexcusable for a professional athlete who's earning tens of thousands of pounds each week!

He certainly has ceased being the player he was during his loan period, or do you think that's a negative comment too?

Tielemans is struggling because Rodgers doesnt understand what his strengths are. Tielemans was thriving last year with barnes, vardy, gray and ricardo making runs behind the opposition back line and him making through balls to them, perez just doesnt make the runs/have the pace for it so Tielemans has had to play without one of his main creative outlets the entire year. Also Perez when played on the wing moves centrally a lot which stops tielemans from making runs into the box, if we had barnes or gray on the right hand side that would leave space for him to push up as they like to stick wide. I imagine if we had just bought an upgrade on gray/barnes for that right had side instead of playing a CAM there Tielemans would have had a much better year.

Was so excited with his signing but he's been pretty average. That maybe does a disservice to people like Maddison who have grown and improved, so the hope is that Youri does the same and we see that player we had on loan. I still think we might, be we don't really have a sold established 11 this season, and our play looks a bit lost at times. With better balance in the squad I think we'd get the best out of him.

Absolutely outstanding today, as I said in the match thread that’s probably the best individual display by one of our midfielders since the title winning season. When you consider what was at stake it was absolutely unreal.

 

Obviously he was brilliantly supported by Ndidi but he is an absolutely class act. That’s what you pay £30m-odd for.

 

More of this sort of thing please Youri.
