His speed and stamina have certainly been a problem this season, does anyone have any explanation for this? Perhaps he'd be better as a final 25 minute sub at the moment.

Hasn't his speed always been slow? It's not his best quality and gets chased down easily. I hope he can make up for it in other ways.

Seems great for Belgium because he sits in front the back 4 alongside Witzel is it? Can't remember who but he dictates the play and plays little balls to the likes of Hazard and Dr Bruyne. He seems a player that plays well when the team does but the team rarely plays well because of him.

I thoughy first 30 excellent. Then dropped off, but then so did everyone else.

There was a point in the second half where he broke forward with it and he looked like he was absolutely ambling when it was crying out for him to drive with the ball at their defensive line and force someone to step out to meet him (creating space for others).
 

As it happened he was going so slow that the pressure came from someone catching up from behind him and he played a nothing ball through to Vardy from 30 yards away whereas had he really run with it he could have been playing a simpler pass from 10 yards away with their back line having been scrambled a bit more.

 

I get that he’s not the fastest but it was the real lack dynamism that concerned me. It’s like some of the players have been so conditioned to tapping it around in deeper areas that they’ve lost that spark and drive in the final third.

Never been the quickest but last season he seemed sharp and hungry. Looks heavy and sluggish now. 

 

If he hadn't have done it last season you'd say he's another Inler type who can't adapt to Premier League football

I think he is taking the piss a bit. He is clearly over weight. Probably no pressure from management as we were so grateful for him to sign for us and we dont want to upset him.

Good player, scrambling for form this season. The ball won't quite bounce for him right now. Perfectly normal. As you were.

Biggest disappointment of the season by far.

 

Appears to have got rid of some of the excess timber but still looks shockingly slow, lightweight and consequently easy to dispossess.

 

He was so clever and creative when on loan that his lack of pace barely registered. But he just hasn’t got going this season at all.

1m 30secs into the first halve he lost possession twice. Problem is we don’t really have competition for places.

He needs to be higher up the pitch so he can be the guy playing that final ball, rather than Barnes, Gray, Albrighton or Perez. I think he has been too deep (Maddison too) this season.

Remember Kante making Drinkwater look good?..

Similar scenario here with Tielemans, with World class players around him he looks decent.
