Officials expect a slowdown in vaccine supplies in April - and medics will be focusing on providing second doses.

Ministers say the plan to offer a first dose to all adults by July is on track.

But NHS England said no first appointments should be booked next month for the under-50s unless they fall into a higher-priority group, such as those who are clinically vulnerable.

Enjoy prison lad.

I’ll walk in with a limp.

Without a shadow of a doubt.

If every country believes it works though, then I don’t see the issue in carrying a E-passport as part of the NHS Track and Trace App to be honest.

We all have smart phones. Roll it into that. It may be forcing the hand with a certain demographic, however if it road maps the route to normal, I’m okay with it.

As for the malarkey that they’re tracking up with these vaccinations .......... my iPhone, laptop, watch, hundreds of apps do that already. Welcome to technology.

No we don't! Why is it assumed that everyone does have one?

I reckon this vaccine passport malarkey is just a ploy to ensure everyone has and takes the vaccine.

I believe that too but the timing is little weird as it is released just before the vaccination slowdown with focus on completing second doses in April?  If the government really meant it then it would be more useful to leak this before the drive to vaccinate younger members of population.

Okay ..... only 84.4% of the UK population own a smart phone.

You might need to get one to go to the pub

Then they can truly track you

In all honesty, the vaccination passport makes sense to a degree. If anything, it should already be in force allowing people who have been vaccinated to move sooner and open up external travel and trade.

If you're OK with the idea of forcing me to carry a smart phone, will you send me the money to pay for it please?

The problem with the idea, although it would obviously work in theory,   is that it's open to abuse and with a life or death situation, there can't be any abuse. It needs to be 100% reliable and we all know that within a couple of weeks someone out there is going to scam it if there's money involved.

Unfortunately, you’re not wrong.

Actually that’s in contempt of current restrictions, casual relationships are not mandated by government until June.

However as a precautious and proactive citizen I plan to extend that particular restriction far past the given date of June.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/03/24/lateral-flow-covid-testing-inaccurate-used-mass-screening-review/

'Lateral flow testing is too inaccurate to be used in mass screening to enable children to go to school or allow people back to work, experts have said following a major review.

A Cochrane review of 64 studies found that asymptomatic testing only picked up around 50 per cent of cases, and picked up far more false than real positives when infection rates were low in the community.

False results from lateral flow Covid tests may mean workplaces and schools will be needlessly forced to close even though the scheme was set up to keep them open, experts cautioned.'

Echoes what a couple have been saying in this thread for a while.

TRNSMT festival, which was due to run from 9th-11th July, has just been pushed back to September.

In announcing this, they said "with the possibility of some ongoing restrictions still being in place in July, we've taken the decision..."

On the same day, an outdoor gig I have tickets to got moved to September from July as well.

What do they know that we don't?

On Friday, Mr Le Drian said the EU "shouldn't be paying the price" for the UK's vaccination policy.

He also criticised its approach to purchasing jabs, suggesting the UK was under pressure because it lacked enough doses to supply second shots.

"The United Kingdom has taken great pride in vaccinating well with the first dose except they have a problem with the second dose," he said.

"One can't play with blackmail," he added. "You can't be playing like this."

Blackmail ffs. lol

Aye, Tanzania have completely refused to report it or record it. President passed away in the last couple of weeks and media are fairly certain it was covid what saw him off

Someone at my work tested positive and got stuck over there. They needed a negative test to leave but as the government denied they had it there he couldn’t leave.

Better lock down for another 8 years just to be on the safe side.
