Anyone looking forward to a Fofana Soyunchu pairing for years to come can forget it.

We'll be lucky to get more than half a season of them as a pairing.

That would mean Fofana leaving after 1 season or Cags leaving after a season with a heavy injury, neither of which will happen imo. Reckon we'll get this and 2021/22 out of them as a pair and then we may be struggling.

Before we all go patting Congerton on the back, let’s look at the facts - Nigel finished work at Carlisle at the end of the 1998/99 season, and wasn’t seen back in football again until 2006, where he resurfaced at Newcastle.
Around the same time Steve Walsh mysteriously leaves a good job at Chelsea, goes missing for a few years and then resurfaces at, yes you’ve guessed it Newcastle with Big Nige.

Now what’s this got to do with Little Wes, well around the time both of these blokes are missing a young lad is conceived in France and born in late 2000, funnily enough given the same name at birth as a man Nigel and Steve would later sign and make club captain.

Now these may all be coincidental, but if your telling me 7 years in the wilderness they couldn’t have had a love child and spent the first six years of his life teaching him everything they know, then you need to get with it and look critically at the world.

We know these two are future planners, why else would be turn down AC Milan for us?

Face the facts, this is all the work of Nigel and Steve not Congerton.

lol

I actually spat out my coffee this morning laughing at this! You can't question the logic!

Wesley Fofana was AC Milan’s number one defensive target over the summer but it is because of Juventus that they missed out, it is claimed.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest for Calciomercato.com, the Milan management worked for months on signing Fofana and made several attempts with Saint-Etienne to try and get the player they believe to be one of the best young defenders in Europe.

However, the operation was never going to be easy nor was it ever close to ending, and it is mostly because of Juve’s decision not to part with Merih Demiral.

Fofana is at Leicester now having joined them in a big-money move, but the Foxes made a serious attempt to land Demiral by putting €35million plus bonuses on the table.

Juventus said no immediately as they consider the Turkish international to be untouchable, and so the Demiral operation was ended without it even becoming a proper discussion.

As a result, Leicester turned straight to Fofana and managed to get a deal over the line before Milan could sell Lucas Paqueta and formulate a serious bid.

LOL, anyone who was about in 1990 if you were to tell them that in 30 years time AC Milan were pissed off because Leicester waltzed in and took their top target off them would think you were taking far too much LSD. :D

This is the best thing I've ever read on FT!

I’m going to put it out there so that it’s not a shock when it happens on Sunday - he needs to work on his positioning as he tends to wander off, leaving space in between him and Evans. Against poorer teams this has been ok, but against Arsenal they will take advantage of it.

That being said, he does look classy on the ball, aggressive in the tackle and strong in the air. The positioning thing is a pretty normal weakness in someone so young and inexperienced.

Told you so 👀
