This bloke is absolutely rubbish. Too slow and gets knocked off the ball far too easily.

I know he was only signed as a squad player but I think I’d sooner see Amartey in the side

The strangest part is him looking comfortable against Man City but being completely bullied by a Championship player half his size today.

We all knew he was going to be a squad player, but I didn't think he'd be this limited and so uneasy at times.

Man City didn't play with a physical striker and we dropped our line a bit deeper. Put him up against a more physical striker or in a higher line he turns into Ryan Bennett MKII. The fact we are so vulnerable on the counter at the minute compounds the issue as our back like is getting exposed with our midfield being played through with ease. Think he he would be better as a ball playing CB in a back 3 with 3 pacey CBs either side but we don't have 2 fit pacey CBs.

As for Bertrand  I thought he was going to be a back up until JJ was back. He played well in the Charity shield & Man city at home but has been wank since then. Would rather Thomas started or Castagne at left back. Castagne was v good defensive at left back in a back 4 last season,

You all wanted him here

Far from it, desperately wanted us to avoid him last season and thought we’d got away with it. Also we now have the issue of Soyuncu being played on the right side of defence which leaves us with two big problems as I warned would happen. Mess.

Remember he and Soyuncu are at most our 3rd or 4th best CB's and it's showing atm.

If Soyuncu is 3rd/4th best then who is 2nd? (assuming you are saying evans)

He`s not very good is he. Bertrand isn`t far behind him in the "not very good stakes" either.

Is it a wonder we're defending like Sourhampton.

I’m wondering if we’d be better pushing N’didi back into defence, allowing Soumare to sit deeper then accommodate Iheanacho.

Runs like he's pulling a bus, crap in the air for such a tall player. Burnley knew we'd play him today, and we played into their hands, that's why Vydra started. Our whole left side of defence is made up of players from one of the worst defences last season, is it wonder we look so fragile.

Amarteys done nothing wrong, and should be starting ahead of him.

Sometimes you watch players and you think ‘he’s poor but he has potential to improve’.

He has NO chance of improving.

I said at the start of the season - ‘After Fofana being such a bad loss the key to our season is how well he does alongside Soyuncu’

Answered already. Need to get Evans Castange in with Riccy and Cags and sharpish!

What is he actually any good at? One thing he most certainly isn't is anticipating the ball coming in to the attacker, I honestly reckon Nampalys Mendy would defend better.

Admittedly all I saw was the Napoli game and only bits of it and it struck me how easily he was brushed aside by their striker for the equalizer.

Evans and Fofana are our best two centre backs. Evans number 1 purely due to experience
