Southampton were desperate to get rid of him for over a year, I read the posts on SaintsWeb and all the posters were the same...get rid, no pace can't defend etc etc not read a positive thing about his football in his thread at Saintsweb from any Saints fans, they couldn't believe we wanted him for 15m when he had a year to go before his contract finishes

Thought he was poor on Thursday but fine today, it's hard to defend when you've got a man holding onto your arm with both of his. The problem today was the complete lack of movement in midfield and attack until we scored.

Maupay had both hands wrapped around his arm. He jumps and gets pulled over. Really think he should be able to jump straight up when Maupay is clearly trying very hard to hold him down?

 

Trying to blame him for the penalty today is ridiculous.

Let's see you try and jump in the air when your hand is being grappled and trapped 'illegally' so by an opposition striker.

Honestly, he's supposed to be our third/fourth choice cb. In that regard he's more than good enough. 

 

Thought he's been fine so far. Probably wouldn't want him as a regular first choice, but more than good enough to deputise.

The penalty should never have happened when they see this foul.

Absolute carthorse. Given the runaround by Wood and Vydra ffs. He really is the definition of turns like an oil tanker 

 

All good and well playing a pretty pass into midfield every now and again, but no use if you can't do the basics of defending.
