Vestergaard signs

Not to be a Debbie downer but Vestergaard is slow, gets easily turned and has been part of two 9-0s, goes to sleep and loses concentration in crucial moments. I know he's only a back up so I'm OK with this but don't expect a lot from him.

Hats off to you sir. It took 2.5 pages for somebody to actually say this at the start of this thread. Up to then everyone was saying what a good signing he was.

Hindsight eh ......

....that does strike me as strange, as prior to him coming here the majority were saying no, he was not good enough and would not fit in here!!!

Those comments might have been in another topic, but the majority of posters did not want him here.

It’s so incredibly infuriating having watched the likes of Maguire, Evans, Fofanna, Syoncu (not so much this season) Morgan, and Huth all flourish in Leicester shirts over the last 7/8 years despite all being very different CB’s and now we’re left with this useless sack of crap. He’s too slow, he’s too clumsy, and he’s positionally poor. He doesn’t even dominate aerially despite being 6ft 4” or whatever he is. He couldn’t even beat Harry Kane in the air the other day. I would rather we terminated his contract now and lost the £15m paid then see him in a Leicester shirt again.

Good stuff. Guessing it's too late for the debut tomorrow but good to get this done quickly so he's ready for next weekend.

Including myself, there's a hell of a lot of us that have sadly been proven wrong by Vestergaard. It wasn't a good signing at all. Oops.

As long as we are in no danger of going down I would rather give Brunt a chance. No doubt that he would make mistakes, he's a young player in a position where that is a lot of responsibility. However, there is at least a chance that we would see the benefit of it in a few months time if he gas learned from his experience and potentially have another squad player from the academy.

Ghanian young CB Salisu was brilliant for Southampton today against Man City, Hasenhuttl's wants to youngsters with pace that's why Vestergaard didn't fit in his plans for Southampton, while Brendan's the opposite who prefers players with EPL experience

I mean now Amartey is back I'm happy for him to come in, but yeah whilst he was away, or any time we've used Vestergaard, I'd rather have seen a youth team player like Brunt or Nelson step in. Its what happened at the end of the 2019/20 season when we played Luke Thomas and that's worked out well.

In a way, the Fofana injury was made even worse by the timing. It allowed us to make this ridiculous purchase rather than make do with what we have.

I think he was bought for aerial prowess, particularly in a three man defence. Good at heading being a key attribute of fofana and to a lesser extent, soumare, to give height when defending corners. Unfortunately it’s not working to plan with so many injuries and Soumare not being overly convincing.

Absolutely agree with this, and Brunt should have kept his place after his performance v Watford, allow him to get some momentum.  Sure, he may have made some mistakes, but could they have been worse than those made by Westergaard? What a learning opportunity to be thrown in against the likes of Kane.

Pound for pound, has to be a contender for worst signing ever. Useless, not even the manager rates him. Says it all

Oh, I don’t know ….. we’ve got a few contenders signed between 16 - 18 that might claim that crown.
