His injury was a sliding doors moment which gave Vestergaard a chance and he took it. It happens in football. Agree with this but I still think if you're going to complain about tired players as a manager then Coady for Vestegaard is one of many changes he could have made throughout the season without any detriment to our results. 4

He cost a few million and has great experience that we urgently need. Was he someone else's choice as a purchase? Nothing surprises. He would’ve been playing ahead of Vestergaard, but literally no one expected Vestergaard to come in and do as well as he did at the start of the season whilst Coady was out injured and by the point Coady was fit again Vestergaard and Faes were doing really well so it would have been very unfair to drop either of them which is why it took so long for Coady to get any meaningful game time 1

He’ll have plenty of interest Could potentially if Enzo leaves, vestergaard contract not renewed, Doyle loan finishes, transfer embargo etc I’m not saying he will but he could end up doing a vestergaard
Dickov22 Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 He’s starting. And so is Faes, and so is Vestergaard 🤷🏼♀️

Muzzy_no7 Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 Enzo will be gone regardless in the summer. Coady will be starting and club captain next season. 1

Lineker's Lugs Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 At the end of the interview just now, Coady thanked all the TV crew, not just the interviewer. Small thing, but it speaks volumes about him. 2
Gevans_97 Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 Fantastic post match interview there. You can tell this guy is an incredible leader. 3

Normally switch straight off but stayed on to listen to him. The way he talks is completely different from the rest of the squad and much needed 2

wokinghamfox Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 He has to play the final 3. We need blood, guts, sweat and balls. He has that in abundance.

Lionator Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 (edited) As we knew, it wasn’t Enzo who locked the door and gave the hairdryer treatment. Edited 20 April 2024 by Lionator

Collymore Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 Anyone else see him demand the ball like a prime inverted Steve Guppy and whip in a ball like Beckham was out of fashion? Feel like he's such a cut above of Justin at the moment and offers something different to Doyle. Proper leader and such a cool head which is probably more important. 1

The captaincy isn't a massive thing at most clubs now, there's leadership groups and he's certainly in that here.
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 Caught daydreaming for WBA's goal. Otherwise did nothing wrong. 1

fox_favourite Posted 20 April 2024 Posted 20 April 2024 I never knew he had a good pass on him. A few good balls and he was always talking to Vesty and Faes. He's such a leader on the pitch, exactly what we need right this moment. Must start against Saints
