It came from a 'senior pro' dicking around and thinking he's much better than he is. Yet again self-inflicted.

If we turn up, we absolutely destroy this league but the problem is that few of the players have their heads in the right place

I don't disagree.

The atmosphere is understandably poor, it was very quiet today. You often talk about having to silence the crowd as the away team, but we're having to do it as the home team at the moment, because they've given nobody anything to cheer about.

A few more average looking wins might slowly change things for players and fans, we have a good opportunity to quickly get points on the board now with a run of midweek games as long as, like you say, a few more players get their heads straight.

Dont over complicate things and a team full of players who have played at a higher level will beat a shite League one side.. who’d of thought? Football Is a simple game, over complicated by people like Martin who care more about style then results.

Alves motm for me. The complete lack of pace in the side is a big concern though. Two new fast full backs needed in January. Especially on the left side if Mcfarlanes a cripple. Probably a new winger as well

That Lundstram goal was well worth it.

Up until that point, a lot of huffing and puffing. Thomas had a complete stinker.

Okoli worked well alongside Souttar, and O'Hara was surprisingly solid at RB.

Riis worked his socks off, and even helped out in midfield.

We were clearly the dominant side for most of the match, but made a meal of it too often in front of goal.

Shame about that Doncaster goal towards the end. Totally out of the blue and unnecessary.

Unfortunate for Alves, so close to scoring.

A win is a win, though. More of that next week, please.

Think these young lads like Braybrooke, Alves, Page etc just need to beef up a bit...

...they have the talent just not the physicality.

Maybe in a couple of years we can be a contender in the Championship.

Did you not hear our morons getting behind the team with rendition of ‘How shit must you be, we’re winning at home?’?

****s

Personally I don’t agree with singing that in the ground of course. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t technically correct

No excuse for ‘How shit ……’ chants though.

Where you been the last few weeks? You only appear after a win.

The reality of the game.

First 20 mins we were pinned back and battered.

40mins - Half Time we played some decent stuff.

45mins - 60mins we played some decent stuff.

Rest of the game we were back to being useless.

First 30 ofd minutes was absolutely  tragic football.

The quality was laughable.

Played decent at times, still too many individual errors.

Doncaster  was absolutely  cr@p.

Dug in though and got over the line.

Loads better but the bar was set very very low

Played some beautiful stuff at times again today.

Good job we scored when we did - to not go into halftime ahead could have been deflating given how much pressure we’d put them under in that little spell.

And Doyle’s just after the hour to give you that cushion; another good time to score.

However - Martin needs to get his bench right, he must have proper central midfield reinforcements on there.

Our drop in intensity, which saw Doncaster create a couple of good chances well before their goal was wholly down to the changes we made and could not make.

Adding Chaplin and Cullen to your midfield areas is not exactly ‘beefing it up’ when you’re looking to hold a lead.

Likewise - Lundstram is 32 and you’re asking to cover a lot of ground in his midfield role; and there’s a game on Tuesday - you should have a sub on the bench that could allow you to give him a breather if the chance arises.

Finally - whilst the formation worked today (it’s not totally new, we did similar against Stockport), I’m not 100% convinced it suits long term; especially given the number of wingers we have in the squad.

That was a systematic change, and what some fans have been requesting for over 4 seasons. Yes it is just one win, and I am the biggest RM critic. But credit where it is due, he tried something different today. More direct and narrow. I'm shocked he adjusted.

Donny were not great, but once the heavies came on, they held us back a little.

Lets hope, this is for the long term, and not just a 4 game breathing window before he tries to get sacked again.

Some good individual performances today, Alves MOM for me, not surprising to see a better defensive performance then recent games when the defenders are allowed to just focus on defense and not 100 passes between them

could have been a very different story as Thomas could have had 2 yellows & a red based on usual probabilities before he actually received his yellow card

Lundstram was good I thought.

It’s really not difficult to win games at this level.

We struggle to win games regardless of the level mainly because we employ this slow sideways style of play from the first minute

You’d imagine Smallbone would be but not sure where he is at re fitness….

Lundstram decent until the brain fart where he thought he was Ronaldinho to give the ball away for their goal

I was right by the incident - it should have been our throw and even then it could have been defended better. But I agree no need for the 2nd Cruyff turn as he'd already beaten his man.
