Good for large periods, a good watch… first 25 usual crap.. got 2 up, cruised too much and conceded needlessly leading to a nervy finish. But 3 points, hopefully we can take the positives and build on this now

Even at 2-0 I didn't think that was great. That system is crap for the players we've got. Negates your 1 player with some pace, means another donkey comes into the back 3 and even someone like Doyle, who had a great game today, won't thrive long-term as he's too slow to be playing as anything other than a central/single 10

There'll be a load of negativity on here so I'll try and keep it balanced. First half hour was shaky, but then looked well in control until the goal we conceded (which came from a throw given wrongly) 

 

Disappointing to see the subs not adding any fresh energy to the game, they looked more tired than those going off. 

 

A win is a win, onto Tuesday. Another 3 points, and we might actually start looking up.

Doncaster were poor, but still a much better showing from us. The formation change worked well, in the first 20 minutes when the game was stretched, on transition we had an extra man back to clean up and it meant that things were not as nervy as they had been in previous games. We struggled to get any midfield rhythm going with some poor passing and first touches, but eventually Lundstrum and Page took over, allowing Braybrooke and Doyle to become influential in the game. 

 

Of course there was a classic Bozo moment at the end to make it nervy, but the game should have been out of sight before then. Tougher tests will come, but this was much more like it. I was expecting this sort of performance to come earlier in the season and to build from there, but at least in general, it was a positive one.

We were better than the scoreline showed. Yes, they're crap. But we were comfortably better than them today.

 

Still issues with finishing because how we didn't score at least 4 is beyond me.

 

Much less knobbing about with daft passes at the back. Prefer the back three, just get O'Hora out for Kangasniemi.  Horrible goal to concede near the end but didn't ever feel like they'd equalise.

 

Liked seeing Page and Doyle playing together.  I enjoy Lundstram being a unit and Riis being so direct.

 

Still Martin out because he'll likely revert back to his nonsense now.  But nice to win for once.

Just got in.

 

It brings it home how far we’ve fallen when I had to scroll past the Women’s Super League and Women’s Players Cup on the BBC website before I found our result.
 

Also briefly got angry at our 2-2 draw before I realised that it was against Watford in the aforementioned Players Cup

Martin has a lot to do to convince me, I wasn’t happy with his appointment and everything up to now confirmed why k wasn’t… however today was better, faster and more direct… yeah first 25 poor… conceded needlessly and then looked nervy the subs didn’t help.. but take the positives and hopefully we can build

A win is a win but we were only good for the middle third or so of the game. The last 20 was honking; that's the time we should be playing keep ball at 2 up and yet we literally couldn't string 2 passes together.

Red herring, no doubt the Martin lovers will emerge from the rocks they’ve been hiding under recently, but that game was more about Donny being shit than it was us being good. Two moments of individual brilliance got the goals. 
 

Alves and Doyle were superb today.
