How is he not even on the conversation for England selection?

He's not as fast as Sterling or Walcott but he's much more effective than both of them put together and he's not slow by any stretch.

That second goal though. Chases down a 50/50 ball, wins it, runs down tbe wing, pinpoint pass to Vardy. Just class display all round from Albrighton.

Shout out to Vardy for yet another top class finish.

His rundown of the ball then, his run and cross for Vardy...That is what makes goal of the season,

30 seconds of sheer brilliance..

Immense play from him. Superb half hour cameo. Completely changed the game and tore through the Sunderland right flank.

Its bizarre. England has plenty of very quick players to choose from but a) they're all lazy and b) we play a possession game.

Marc who isn't the quickest (although reaching that ball after Jones had a hefty head start) but without doubt works harder and creates more quality chances would fit the squad so much more, yet doesn't get a sniff.

If England actually wanted to play a pacey counter attacking style then maybe it would make sense that he's not being picked, although even then, he's had so much success playing that system for us that he should be a shoe in.

Still can't believe he's only 27.feels like he's been around since forever

Did anyone hear his interview after the game? Just class: Said that although it was hard to be on the bench, Gray had earned the start based on his performance at the weekend. And when asked if he had earned his starting position back, he spoke about how well Gray has been playing, and how it was Shakespeare's call, and praised the depth of the squad. All of this after a game where he was MOTM as a sub. As I said, just class.

He's one that clearly suffered under Ranieri's direction.

No doubt Shakey tells him simply : run at them, get the ball into dangerous areas.

That's what he's good at. The carbon copy of Steve Guppy.

Either that or he's overdosing on PEDs since Ranieri left :D

Not that ugly is he? Just got a right old honker on him.

He does look kind of like a rat villian but he was such an impact last night and every time he plays he offers great service.

He strikes me as a humble person and it was clear he was hurt by accusations of being an accomplice in getting Ranieri sacked. He always gives an honest performance on the pitch and conducts himself well on and off it.

Quality last night from Albrighton. Consistently delivers work rate and quality deliveries that are so essential to our system. Will be a real asset against Atletico, particularly with Slimani and his aerial threat looking ready to perform again after last night.

Even this doesn't do it justice! He made challenges, ran past people, went for some audacious backheel and flick passes and had a decent shot on goal. It was like he had 10 red bulls prior to coming on.

Something that was infuriating during the first half of the season- hardly ever having Slimani and Albrighton on the pitch at the same time!
