kingfox Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 Blame Shakespeare all you want, but yet again certain individuals cost us with their lack of concentration. For the majority we played well, pressed hard and caused endless problems. Amartey came on too early for me, you usually bring someone like him on with 10 mins left not 20, Iheanacho sub was weird but the changes aren't to blame. Just poor concentration I'm afraid, Mahrez at fault for first two, non existent marking for the third, good header from Giroud for the fourth but he did pull Maguire down A loss is a loss though and this hurts, if we put in the same desire we showed tonight against Brighton then we should win
brucey Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 Good game from both sides. Amartey for Oka was fine, but the James sub was wrong. Live and learn. Hopefully this makes the boys hungrier.
Clever Fox Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 hard to take with the way we played. Still, the linesman should have called Ozils handball.

LCFC1996 Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 If James' legs were gone then you bring King on, you don't mess with the balance of the team.
vanity Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 Loss is wholly on Shakespeare. He took us out of the game going to that 4-5-1, completely changed our mentality, we'd have won this game if he'd brought in Nacho rather than Amartey (not that Amartey is to blame). Was obviously the wrong decision when he did it, he simply extinguished his own attack.
Realist Guy In The Room Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 At 3-2 we had them. The crowd were their backs and they were looking ragged. At that point, bring on Nacho for Shinji. Bringing on Amartey was just begging for trouble.

kyleolly Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 We've lost at Arsenal and put in a superb performance no shame in that if we carry on in the same vein I think this season can be fruitful

The Guvnor Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 Major over reaction with Shakey's decision making , what about Ozil's hand ball and Giroud pulling Maguire down by his shirt for his headed goal.
Callabinho Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 Poor start, excellent middle hopeless end... You can't take the lead twice in one game and lose, it's criminal...unfortunately you've seen why Shakey won't last...the substitutions were appalling, absolutely ****ing appalling....bringing King on would have been the best bet just to sure up the midfield and keep the shape...we immediately presented changes to Arsenal as soon as we made the changes. Shakey has a hell of a lot to learn if he wants to be successful...because you won't get it with that... as for Mike Dean, he's a useless bald **** who can **** right off...the whole end of the game was just a ****ing shambles...Brighton best be a ****ing massacre...****ing livid.... Farrington fox Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 Shakey must take some of the blame, understood the Amartey one. But Nacho for James, should never have happened. That said we gave it a good go. We Just can't beat fvckin Arsenal.

WigstonWanderer Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 Cracking match, shame we couldn't hold on. Nothing expected from this fixture though. Can't see Wenger putting a bid in for Mahrez on that performance.

The way we approached the game was correct and we played great overall. Defensively we were all over the place, that cost us in the end. We were asleep from setpieces especially. So we've got things to work on, but I'm massively impressed with how we played. That is how a football match should be and that is how we need to play. This. Had a right go at them and I feel aggrieved that we didn't get anything out of it. Considering they were bang up for it, and taking away the manner of defeat, it was very positive. foxoffderby Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 when we were winning should of been 451 never have bought KI. Should of been Ben Chilwell for Mahrez and MA off for D gray. Blue ROI Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 The arsenal hoodoo remains. Was a great chance to end it. Nachoman disrupted our flow I felt. Great effort from the lads though. We can be proud of that show.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 11 August 2017 Share Posted 11 August 2017 I've noticed a lot of people saying we need a centre back and a right back but at least two of their goals were from positions out left back should have covered. I rate Fuchs but I think he gets forgiven any time he makes an error
