Tuna Posted 11 April 2018 Posted 11 April 2018 According to reports, it looks like Drinky's fed up with his bench warming role at Chelsea and wants out at the end of the season. I've no idea if we'd be interested, but wouldn't be surprised if we were. Just throwing it out there...If he became available, would you like us to re-sign him?
Beechey Posted 11 April 2018 Posted 11 April 2018 (edited) Good depth option, £15m-£20m I think would probably do it, would effectively mean we bought Drinkwater and Silva for like £7m. Still, he's started what, like 4 games this season and scored 1 goal with no assists? If we didn't know him, I'd be thinking "steer clear". Edited 11 April 2018 by Beechey
lcfc sheff Posted 11 April 2018 Posted 11 April 2018 I've said yes - but definitely see him more of a squad depth person if we get rid of some deadwood. Otherwise I want us to sign someone who comes a bit of a shock to us all ... in a good way.
Harry - LCFC Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 Yes, in fact he seems an obvious target for me. Still a good player who I believe would get in our team. He didn't leave on sour terms either, so we should be happy to welcome him back if we believe he adds to our squad.
urban.spaceman Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 Yes. Better question - would he get in the first XI ahead of Iborra and Silva? 1
mod hero Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 I Read the Chelsea forum thread on him. They are not in the slightest bit impressed with him. i think Silva will prove to be a better player as time goes on. would cost a minimum of 25M I reckon. Don’t need him.
Stadt Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 Better than Iborra, we don't have a midfielder that moves with the ball as well as him. His defensive ability was underrated too. 4
fox_favourite Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 (edited) Yes and no. Yes - because we know he's a decent player and he's exactly what we need. He can pass and get the best out of Vards, he technically very good. No - he's made his bed, he needs to now lie in it. Also, I feel we need to move on. Also, I can't see Chelsea selling him for less than £30m as they'll want to recoup most of what they paid for him, and for a guy who hasn't really played this season is a lot of money. It still left a bit of bitterness due to the way he wanted out. Edited 12 April 2018 by fox_favourite
AS78UK Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 Good player, helps team spirit and get him in the cheap.
Babylon Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 (edited) Yes. Good on the ball, forward thinking player, who is also a grafter and puts in the defensive work. Edited 12 April 2018 by Babylon
Bozman Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 WBA or Stoke will be after players in the summer, let him go to them because he didn't want to play for us and that's about his level..
mozartfox Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 No. Time to move on. He wanted out so bad idea to bring him back. Mind you, Kante would be a different proposition ? 1
Popular Post ian_marshall Posted 12 April 2018 Popular Post Posted 12 April 2018 No. He was one of my favourite players before he left, but I'd have huge concerns over his fitness given his injury record over the past year, and I'm sure financially in terms of wages it'd be an expensive bit of business. Furthermore, seeing as it's been suggested that some of the old guard maybe have a little too much power in the dressing room I really don't think it would be conducive to resolving such issues by adding to their numbers. Finally, if we were to re-sign him he'd surely want guarantees of first team football given his reason for wanting to leave Chelsea, which would mean both Iborra and Silva would be demoted to the bench which would surely cause further issues. 12

Countryfox Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 Definite yes ... very underrated and will give JV the support he craves ... would look very strong next to Ndidi ...
Itsthejoeker Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 I’d be worried he’ll always be looking at the next opportunity to move to a bigger club, hopefully he’d have learnt his lesson
hackenbacker Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 From BBC Website: Chelsea's 28-year-old English midfielder Danny Drinkwater will consider his future at the club at the end of the season https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/11/danny-drinkwater-move-frustrating-season-chelsea
FOXYTALK Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 might as well get him back on loan for the next 6 weeks.
Monsell1976 Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 No thanks, he forced a move by all accounts, to a club he obviously wasn’t going to play every week, so as the saying goes, he’s made his bed, lie in it. We now have two players in Iborra and Silva, who are as good, and where Silva is concerned in time could be far better in my opinion, don’t need him.

I'd be interested to see what a poll result would be on here! Edit: Just seen we've got a poll on it in the transfer section Edited 12 April 2018 by Izzy Muzzett
Bayfox Posted 12 April 2018 Posted 12 April 2018 Split on this. 2 good season's in about 5. Those 2 good season's helped us lift 2 titles. But very little either side for me. He forced a move thinking he was better than he is. But I guess in a cut price deal I'd be interested. But would need to be somewhere close to half what we got for him.
