UniFox21 Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Ignoring that cross, he played well. Was direct and challenged their defence all game. He's improving

Looking at the replay he would have had to thread the eye of the needle a bit as Robertson took up a clever position. Still, the pass to Maddison was probably still the better option and it's frustrating he didn't have the awareness to see that Maddison was arriving. That lack of awareness/decision making continues to be his biggest achilles heel. Thought he was ok tonight on the whole though.

Its been said in the post match thread. Liverpool defenders were blocking the cross off. More or less forced him into shooting No need to be slagging off Gray for tonight
Dames Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Can we get Kevin Phillips back in as a coach? Vardy’s end product improved loads when KP was on our coaching staff. Wonder if he can do the same with Gray.

sm1 Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 He's our very own version of Theo Walcott. Lots of potential but doesn't seem to be making any progress from when he first came here.
zealot Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 He could have risked a pass through legs of an on rushing Robertson. It was far from straightforward so fair play for him having a crack! Give the kid a break....

You get loads right, but, don’t you dare put one foot wrong!
Guest TaggertvsWise Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Played well. I work on Liverpool and many of my colleagues texted me saying is was a great player.... I asked if they were taking the piss but the genuine consensus was he gave thier defence the runaround... maybe we are a bit harsh on him? He is young, only just started to get a series of runs in the team. Tonight was a mature performance by his standards. 8-10 starts and he could be back in England contention on deserved grounds

He's probably been told to be a greedy Cnut!!!!... just think next year he's going to be brilliant, when he goes on a forestalk-forum coaching session and seminar....
TheUltimateWinner Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Thought he did well today and most of all played with confidence which is something he’s lacked for a while. Dont bash him when he’s clearly a confidence player, get behind him. He can be bloody exciting if we do.
TrentFox Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 People always focus on what he isn’t doing and seem to miss what he is doing. I think he’s making good progress.
Scotch Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 I'm not his biggest fan but had he tried to play in Maddison and it was blocked (which is likely because Robertson covered well) then people would be on here asking why he didn't shoot. It wasn't as clear cut as folk are making out.

hejammy Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Wow, some people really have it in for him! I thought he played really well tonight, one of our best players. Apart from the lacklustre shot (which like some have said was probably the right decision as the cross was being blocked by 2 defenders) he played well. He gives the impression off the field that he's not interested and/or is arrogant, maybe he's just that laid back. When our young players play well give them credit! Get behind them ffs!

Tielemans63 Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 He had a good game tonight. Played some lovely through balls and took up some great positions. Shame that some will focus on him not squaring it to Maddison when he did so many other things really well. Thought it was his best game for a a while tbh.
Charl91 Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 I didn't think it would've been a simple ball to Maddison at all, and I'm glad that people seem to agree. Had no ideas what the commentators were on about.
Clarkey123 Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Tbf the lad is a bit of a one trick pony, his pace getting at players is frightening but his decision making and I don’t just mean like the chance to square overall is poor, I think Barnes will be the better player in the long term

mod hero Posted 30 January 2019 Posted 30 January 2019 Not from that angle on his left foot I wouldn’t

He beat some of the best players in the league today with some great movements and skill. Might as well call vardy a one trick pony cause he's fast too then?
